(115,686 posts)and even though she interviews well, when push comes to shove she's pretty useless. You write to her and you get a bunch of ambiguous drivel, and trying to contact her office is a waste of time. She's fine at promoting feel-good legislation but trying to get her to take a stand on something controversial is like trying to nail jello to a wall. She's another middle of the road human windsock.

(28,075 posts)She was pretty much shoved down our throats by those running both DFL and the DNC. I still think Ford Bell, who was also running for endorsement the first year Amykins ran, would have been a much better senator. But both the state party and DNC had decided they didn't want another Wellstone and, in violation of party rules, started pushing her long before there was an endorsement.
She also has one of the rudest staffs I've ever encountered (right up there with Erik Paulsen's). I had more pleasant and productive chats with Normie Coleman's staff members - even when I was making it clear to them I thought there boss was a weasel.
I gather they pretty much mimic her attitude. I heard from a Hennepin County AFSCME member that some of their members were in tears begging the union not to endorse her the first time she ran for Senate. These were people who had had the pleasure of dealing with her when she was County Attorney.
