Trump: Muslim ban 'just a suggestion'

Donald Trump appeared to subtly soften his tone on his proposed ban on foreign Muslims entering the United States Wednesday, in apparent response to criticism from the newly elected Muslim mayor of London.

The planned ban, Trump said on Fox News Radio’s “Kilmeade and Friends,” is only “temporary.”

“It hasn’t been called for yet. Nobody’s done it,” the presumptive Republican nominee said.

“This is just a suggestion until we find out what’s going on.”

Good to remember some of these actual events; our popular media are consumed with reporting on fictitious events that get urped up from the GOP id (e.g., practically anything to do with Benghazi, Obama's real birth certificate, etc.).

From the get-go, Trump called for the ban on all Muslims immigrating to (perhaps even visiting from other countries?) the United States, until we (which is to say, he) got some unspecified things figured out. So in one sense, this is just a continuation of his original (we’ll call it a) thought.

But I wonder how Trump’s most fervent supporters will react to the softening of the hard line they fell in love with? How will they handle any taunting (not from us, because we’re good and virtuous and never taunt) from political adversaries that Trump’s gone “establishment” on them? Will they like the suggestion that Trump has been co-opted by the Washington insiders?

now this is just damned funny!
"...his original (we’ll call it a) thought..."

I think his followers are as avid as any cult following. They will simply say he has to tone it down to be "pc" or something.
I'm hoping Hillary will wipe the floor with him at any debates. Likely he'll try the Gish Gallop strategy because he really doesn't have "the best words" . Will the general public, those who aren't as interested in following politics, be sucked into his being presidential sounding? God I hope not!
I think every Republican will back Trump by November because he's a Republican.

Even with his back and forth on stances that attracted these enraged, paranoid people, most likely all he has to say is "build a wall!" and they'll melt right in his little hands again.

I'm guessing that Trump will try one, and then decide he doesn't like getting pantsed on national television and having all the girls laugh at his little Donald. Clinton will do something that interviewers almost never do with Trump: She'll listen and respond to what he says. Trump will have to try to deny saying what he just said, and Clinton will not let him get away with it.

The Independents are watching... and listening.
He has the 28 percent of hard-core repugs in the bag.
Why continue to pander to the insane?
Looks like he might be looking into a Reagan-style tax and slash system...
Independents will run run away.

Does he plan to pull defeat from the mouth of victory?

Lots of things start with "just a suggestion", but it is the motivation behind that 'suggestion' which is fundamentally bullshit and bigoted!
