What, specifically, might be in Trump's tax returns that is damaging?

Not Social Security, not something petty that he can explain away (and with his following he can explain away a lot!), but something that will make many voters think twice about voting for him?

1. He's no where near worth what he claims? (But you can explain a lot of that with assets, unless the difference is so great that his lying is apparent to all.)

2. Hidden accounts? (Won't be there.)

3. Donations to Planned Parenthood or the like?

No, it is likely something beyond these. What?????

Just as Watergate was heating up, Nixon was being audited by the IRS and released his taxes. It showed that on an income of almost $800,000 he had paid an astonishing .8% - that's right, less than 1%.
He ending up settling with the IRS for close to $1/2 million, which cut his net worth in half.

Most relevant thing in the info above: Nixon was being audited when he released the taxes that were the subject of the audit. That is a very compelling rejection of Trump's BS reason why he is withholding his taxes.
And, Nixon's famous "I am not a crook" statement was in reference to this issue, and not, as most people assume, his later criminal cover-up of the Watergate break-in.

Trump's too much of a classic NPD case that if it show's he's only worth $4 billion as opposed to $10 billion, his fragile ego gets a huge boo-boo.

It has been standard for Presidential candidates to do so. The fact that he doesn't do so suggests that at the least he is hiding something embarrassing. I am guessing he doesn't pay much in tax because he is claiming a lot of business losses. That might be a little difficult to explain to his minions.

For example, if he paid an extremely low rate, much less than the average person, many of his supporters would see that as a sign of his cleverness, getting over on the government, etc. On the other hand, he may have given money to liberal charities, and they would not forgive him for that.

invite them to one of his exclusive parties.

Maybe his tax returns show he donates very little money to what he calls losers which would be
everyone who isn't one of his beautiful children or one of pre-nupped his ex-wives.

I imagine he doesn't want lots of legal help pointing the IRS to things they should be interested in.
