So is Obama admin trying to help Trump get elected? Why the school bathroom announcement now?

This just gives Trump and the GOP another issue for the RW base to get hysterical over and pushes more of them to become more involved? Timing is everything, folks. This is bad timing.

No, no, transgender people and their allies, more time is needed to sort this all out.

No, no, transgender people and their allies, Rome wasn't built in a day, so why the need to start now?

No, no, transgender people and their allies, why do you need "special rights"?

No, no, transgender people and their allies, ...

US planning new wave of deportation raids: report
Source: THE HILL by Jesse Byrnes

The Obama administration is planning a new round of raids to deport those residing in the United States illegally, Reuters reported Thursday. U.S. immigration officials are reportedly planning to conduct the raids in May and June, deporting hundreds of individuals who came to the U.S. from Central America.

The arrests will be focused on mothers and children who've already been told to leave the U.S. and minors who entered the U.S. without a guardian and are now adults, the report said.

Officials apprehended 121 individuals following raids early this year in Georgia, Texas and North Carolina. The Obama administration caught flak for those raids from immigration activists and some Democrats, including presidential candidates Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton.

U.S. Border Patrol apprehended 32,000 family units — mothers and children traveling together and illegally entering into the U.S. — between October and March, more than twice the number for the same period the previous year, according to Reuters. Officials have been using raids to curb border crossing after a wave of migrants illegally entered the U.S. through its southern border in 2014, straining resources of the federal government.

Before ending his presidential bid last week, Senator Ted Cruz of Texas charged that Donald J. Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee, and Hillary Clinton, the likely Democratic nominee, “both agree that grown men should be allowed to use the little girls’ restroom.”

It's the Cruz supporters--the evangelical, Bible thumping, right-wing "Christians" who are opposed to equal rights for LGBT--who have fomented this issue. Mat Staver (who represented Kim Davis), and his Liberty Counsel organization has been behind all the recent legislation to prohibit equal rights for LGBT people.

In effect, if the school districts give in to the shoutycrackers, do they risk losing federal education dollars by being in violation of Title VII?
