(13,776 posts)This candidacy is like the frog in the pan of boiling water. A year ago it would have been unthinkable that the kind of grown man who would call reporters and pretend to be his own publicist--it's so middle-school!--could come this close to the presidency.

I think because it's Trump it doesn't seem quite as odd or needy or childish as it is, but it's pretty hard to imagine a normal adult--or the President of the United States--playing make-believe like that.

(36,927 posts)He thinks he can simply manipulate people to get what he wants, and when busted he simply lies his way out of it. Since he believes everyone else is stupider than him, there's no chance he won't get away with it. Whatever ethical considerations there are against such behavior aren't even considered.
