This was the breaking news I was at. And mostly sharing for one particularly decent photo I got today. Also if you want to see how some of this we want to prevent this crap from going into the storm drain works, Yup took photos and posted it.

And if you are in San Diego, avoid the area, That be the Morena bridge, what a mess.

(71,936 posts)though its a borderline trivialization of Hitler; but the issue here is the story as local news and a situation no one wanted including the 1% not wanting it publicized (nothing happening here: move on). The story was well put together capped I think by Nadia's truly effective photograph of a fuel tanker on its side but not on fire. It instantly gave an image that instantly inspires the all important five "W"s.
And also some others, like: Will that tanker catch fire or spill fuel into the sewers and ground? Are tankers safe? Are tankers traveling on highways a threat? Are tankers traveling on my streets? Are local authorities prepared for these events? Are tanker drivers safe? Are tankers and driver regulated and regularly tested?
Documentation and dissemination of this stuff is news but more importantly it is public education. Bringing it literally to the light of day in this case. After all, what else happens at night we do not know about?
Thank you again, Nadin!

That is when we decided we needed to cover this story

(15,404 posts)That feed the Mission Valley West, Bay Park, Point Loma/Old Town and Midway areas of town. Since the area is sand, fill, pretty much at sea level, the old clay and cement pipes are just not able to handle the stresses placed on them due to increasing traffic and much of the construction that is always going on in the area. Over the past five years, there's been 3 major potable water pipe breakage and lots of little crack/seepage events - it seems they're digging up sections of street and sidewalk replacing water lines every other month. Ten years ago, it was old gas lines going on a regular basis...we have a serious infrastructure situation in the City of San Diego, and a lot of maintenance has been deferred for over 50 years.
The authorities are probably concerned with seepage into the drinking water system if they're aware of a crack or weakness in pipe in the area.

When are they going to end anti-trust protections for these shysters?

Good news, they stopped pushing chargers with the signature gatherers and now are only pushing the convention center. If you listen to the signature gatherers...it is not the same. It is...but I think the lets keep the Chargers is turning people off. At least that is how I read it
