Woman donates hair to cancer patients is mistaken for trans, harassed in restroom

Stay classy, conservatives...
http://www.rawstory.com/2016/05/woman-who-donated-hair-to-cancer-patients-mistaken-for-transgender-man-and-harassed-in-restroom/

Danbury News Times reports that Toms was accosted by another woman while she was washing her hands in a Walmart bathroom in Danbury, Connecticut. Toms was wearing a baseball hat and she had very short hair because she recently donated her hair to a charity that makes wigs for children with cancer.

She said that she was approached by a complete stranger in the bathroom and was told that “You’re disgusting!” and “You don’t belong here!” The 22-year-old Toms posted a video on Facebook talking about how the experience opened her eyes to the abuse that transgender people face every day.

“After experiencing the discrimination they face firsthand, I cannot fathom the discrimination transgender people must face in a lifetime,” she said. “Can you imagine going out every day and having people tell you you should not be who you are or that people will not accept you as who you are?”

We have become:

01: Uber religious self-righteous assholes that things God personally speaks to us
02: Hyper sensitive campus liberal PC word police who think the right not to be offended is in the Constitution
03: Neoliberal corportist authoritarians that never met a war or an industry they didn't love
04: Narrow minded bigots that believe anyone who doesn't respect their bigotry is the actual bigot.
05: Jingoistic flag wavers that believe killing everyone we don't like is the best option
06: Shallow celebrity worshipers that care more about some Hollywood fruitcake's dress than the SCOTUS' decision on our liberties
07: Police state lovers that believe the police are under attack and can do absolutely no wrong
08: Unquestioning sheep that are just smart enough to do the job and just dumb to accept the jobs with lower wages
09: Single Issue morons that believe if you don't support their pet issue, you are the devil and must be destroyed
10: Fade idealists that have seen what has happened, lost their faith and have pretty much given up and accepted we are doomed.

And it only gets worse every passing election cycle.

Yes.

Quite easily.

As that's what I went thru starting in elementary school because I sucked at sports and liked Bach. Then it got intense at the all boy prep school where, since I lived there, it was humiliation 24/7. And of course, as my parents continually explained to me, it was all my fault.

And I'm not a flaming drag queen or anything close to that. I'm really just a regular person... who likes ballet and art.

Well, nowadays it's not as bad as in the 60's and early 70's. In fact, in the late 70s it was almost alright to be gay. But conservatives are trying to bring it all back.... because they've already LOST!

to my straight friends. They have experienced pain, fear and the stress of recognizing and accepting who they are, while struggling with a segment of society who is hateful and violent towards those they don't understand. I find my gay friends to be kinder, more generous, more accepting of others, very liberal minded and fiercely supportive of equality for all people. And my gay friends are full of love, laughter and live their lives with gusto. I find they enrich my life and I really appreciate and respect them.

It started in January when the GOP quietly sent out a resolution to their minions directing them to create as many anti-trans laws as they could at the state and local levels. They *intentionally* manufactured this into what they hoped would be their campaign fear/hate-topic for the 2016 elections. Because in some crowds attacking trans children, well, that's good fundraising...apparently.

Looks like the level of violence will increase, thanks to idiots that are also RWing control freaks. Reminds me of the AIDs epidemic that was under reported on, in the 80s and 90s, because neither party really wanted to do the right thing and make it a political issue.

just listen to any of the gun nuts and their fear of everything including their own shadow is a threat. Some concealed carry nutjob will find an excuse to take out some masculine looking women.

Look at any of the RW memes on social media about the bathroom bill as in if anyone calls them a bigot they will call them an ambulance. And they will knock out all your teeth because they self identify as the tooth fairy. There is deep and violent hatred on the right that has gotten out of control.

The report came from Law Student in a dress (it was about 8:00 pm). I was sitting talking to a police office who had stopped in on his foot patrol. When told of the man in the woman; restroom, the officer then called his partner, who had gone downstairs to use the rest room to look into it. His partner reported back the only person in the female restroom was her, The Student had used another stall and saw the officer's boots and assumed she was a man by her boots. These real REAL hiking boots, for the female officer was on foot patrol and went for the most comfortable black shoe she could find that was also water proof (it was WINTER).

Such complaints are NOT new, that was almost 30 years ago, but I remember it to this day.

Conservatives don't know what they want, if the original poster, had been trans, but by birth was female they would be required by HB2 to be in the ladies room no matter how they identify or appear now, yet if they had their way there would be no public bathroom that this law would make them comfortable in, yet they want to impose their will on to everybody and can't see how intolerant they are being and are sure this is all someone else's fault. I suppose now that we are supposed to carry our birth certificate with us to a bathroom?

They don't want trans people to live authentically. Or really, they just don't want trans people to exist.

These laws are written so that trans people are in danger no matter what restroom they use. And I believe that's the intent. The laws are a form of terrorism. Keep trans people so afraid that they never come out as trans.

This is almost the same story I just posted except this time, she donated her hair, and in mine, she was the cancer patient. (Sorry I have no links) So goes to show what this country has morphed into after the republiconz have their way. One of these times, they may get shot from all those gun nuts who want to go back to the old wild west, and take "justice" into their own hands. It will take a very long time and much work before we return to sanity in this country.
