https://www.buzzfeed.com/hayleycampbell/it-was-the-70s?utm_term=.yxKRe2zO1Q#.it20w14jAOThe 1970s were a weird time, not least because you could apparently advertise cocaine in magazines despite this being the first decade of President Nixons Controlled Substances Act.
Many more at the link. The 1970s was a very different world.

(2,518 posts)...in a little tee shirt store in suburban New Jersey. You know, one of those places with the big iron and various band logos and such that you would iron onto the tee shirts. No big deal. It was fun and the owner was a good friend.
He got invites to a big trade show at the New York Coliseum, and he couldn't go, so a friend and I got the badges and we went. Most of the show was pretty boring, mostly apparel companies trying to peddle their wares.
However, toward the back of the show, were all the paraphernalia dealers who wanted to get their headshop gear placed in more "traditional" stores. They went crazy over my friend and I! They loved that we were unsupervised teens at a trade show, and we were exactly their target market. We walked out of there with two packed shopping bags each of every bit of weed paraphernalia you can imagine. Several of the exhibitors even gave us free weed with which to test their products.
It was totally surreal, and is something that would never happen today. And it probably shouldn't have happened back then either, but I certainly thought it was fun. Mom and Dad never knew...

It was a weird and wild time for sure
