http://www.wsj.com/news/articles/SB10001424052702303749904579579991127674958This is not beef but the left over connectivity tissue found in the animal after it has been slaughtered. The manufacture uses a large amount of ammonia to process it into pink slime. This product is illegal in Europe and Canada, but anything goes in the USA.
ABC News is still being sued by the manufacture for a previous report so the news media will no longer report on the subject to avoid costly litigation.

The cow-sized bass-o-matic was a great innovation in food processing technology.
