Trump: When I Said ‘Punishment,’ I Meant Women Should Punish Themselves for Abortion

http://www.mediaite.com/print/trump-when-i-said-punishment-i-meant-women-should-punish-themselves-for-abortion/

by Alex Griswold

In a New York Times profile of Donald Trump‘s campaign, the candidate walked back his comments to MSNBC’s Chris Matthews that women should receive “some form of punishment” if they seek an abortion, saying he actually wanted women to punish themselves.

“I didn’t mean punishment for women like prison,” he said. “I’m saying women punish themselves. I didn’t want people to think in terms of ‘prison’ punishment. And because of that I walked it back.”

But the Times reporter Robert Draper dug around and got the real story. Trump “initially saw nothing wrong with his remark and refused to walk it back,” and issued a short noncommittal statement. Trump suddenly changed his mind when he was swamped with questions and requests for comment from over a hundred media outlets.

He then turned to his ally New Jersey Governor Chris Christie and got his team to write another statement. The result was what the public saw: two separate statements with completely contradictory responses released within an hour of each other.

suit him? Most women who find they need one, do a lot of agonizing just making the decision.
Why are men presuming to tell women what to do and how to feel and how to act in a situation like this when in most cases, men are the reason the woman is pregnant in the first place.

Let's look at some of the men's responses to a pregnancy.
Some walk away and offer no support
Some rape then deny it
Some abuse the woman
Some let the woman know they won't be hired to a job if they are pregnant
Some have some choice words for a woman in that condition
Some have an attitude like Trump.

This is just some of the negative responses. I'm sure there are more.
There are many who are good husbands and men and offer their wives/girl companions lots of support. Those aren't the ones I'm including.

I know quite a few women who've had abortions and none of them are tortured with recriminations about their choice. They did what they had to do at a certain point in their lives, period the end. I am sure there are probably some religious women who agonize over their decision, but that's certainly not the case with most.

Fri May 20, 2016, 05:51 AM
May 2016

The last Democratic candidate to promise to raise taxes if he was elected was Walter Mondale. Vice President Mondale lost all but one state, and Mondale didn't have albatrosses around his neck like never having worked as anything but a politician, getting evicted for stealing electricity from his landlord, being a deadbeat dad, honeymooning in the Soviet Union, flying to Nicaragua to apologize to an enemy of the United States for America's foreign policy, two trips to Cuba, having a wife that bankrupted a college, or working on the only Marxist kibbutz in all Israel.

The GOP also knows all that, and they'd use it against him. The race would be over in August.

Hillary has a long track record of going up against Republicans and winning. Bernie Sanders can't even win the state he was born in.

Sanders is losing badly to Hillary Clinton. He is not and never was the Democratic front-runner.

Hillary has over 3 million more votes than Sanders. Hillary has 2,297 delegates, only 86 delegates away from the 2,383 needed to clinch the nomination. Sanders needs TEN TIMES that, or 856 delegates to get the nomination, since he only has 1,527 delegates.

Or are you just going to continue posting meaningless trite about Sanders supporters being on the wrong site?

Are you purposely daft or is it built in? Hooray for corruption! Yay! Ram Democratic decisions down everyone's throat without a vote! Yay, corruption! Take gobs of money from the very people this site was against just 4-8 years ago. Yay corruption!

You never post up about the Hillary issues.. I wonder why that is? Probably because there are no good answers without shattering your "perfect Hillary" worldview. Have at it Haas. Brilliant strategy BTW for winning over Sanders supporters, well played!

Nobody deserves Trump. He's clearly too good for us and should leave the presidential race immediately. I'm sure he never expected it to go this far.

The most popular way will be to go to a sign shop, get a picture of "Trumpolini firing someone on The Apprentice" printed on car-wrap vinyl, and stick it to the ceiling right over your bed so you have to look at him every time you have sex from here on out.

Six months later we'll learn women are refusing to have sex "if I have to look at that damn picture of Donald Trump for even a second."

59. Straight Out Of The Romney Playbook
Thu May 19, 2016, 01:49 PM

Romney would have made life so miserable for undocumented people that they would self-deport.

Now Trump comes along and would make the life so miserable for a woman that got pregnant from a rape that the rape wasn't punishment enough so they would punish themselves. Obviously, that punishment would be to force them to carry the fetus to term. How else could a woman that just learned that she is pregnant punish themselves? It makes no sense. Besides, that is government imposed punishment and not some undefined self punishment. So, Donald, give us an example of what you are talking about and how you would make it come to pass. Frankly, I think it is just more bloviating.
