The Florida Legislature is actively seeking a replacement for the statue of Edmund Kirby Smith that currently resides in the U.S. Capitol. And Sen. Marco Rubio has a novel idea about who that replacement should be.

Tim Tebow.

On May 18, the former Republican presidential candidate tweeted a photo of the University of Florida quarterback stiff-arming an FSU player with the caption: “Here’s suggestion for #Florida which looking 4 help replacing state statue in U.S. Capitol.”
....

Whether Rubio was jiving or not, the Legislature is only considering Floridians who have been deceased for 10 years or more as replacement options. They are accepting recommendations through an online survey.

I don't have much against tebow except his quarterbacking is not great. But he accomplished some in college. The whole genuflecting or whatever it was should not have gotten the attention it did from both sides. I didn't think it was a big deal. As far as governor? No thank you.
