How is it that another airplane has disappeared?

No solid leads. No transponder signals. Just vanished once again. If they can't find a plane in the Mediterranean, they'll never find one in the Indian Ocean. But that's another story.

I don't understand how an airplane can disappear in the Med.

That Bridget from Cardholder Services can call every phone number in America 50 times a year and a government that does full-spectrum surveillance on all of us can't seem to stop her.

Egyptian officials are saying it's more than likely terrorism, but I don't think anyone knows for certain at this point.

Anyway, give it a couple days before you declare it un findable.

The one in the Indian Ocean was lost on purpose by one of the pilots. That's kind of a special case.

I haven't checked airliners.net since yesterday. They have all the technical stuff from pilots' perspective.

If I read correctly, the sea can be up to 2.5kms deep in that part of the Mediterranean?

9. Not only that, but it made a couple of really erratic turns and dropped 30,000 feet

before it dropped off radar. If it went straight down, it'll take a few days for things to bob up to the surface.

It sounds like there was a struggle in the cockpit and/or one of the crew decided to commit suicide and take a whole lot of people with him.

but I understand the Airbus has so many redundancies built in that it's unlikely.

because "they" have not been forthcoming.

That's just what it looks like from the report of what happened to the plane just before it disappeared.

Being heavily traveled, there is a lot of junk floating out there, so a debris field is not easy to find.

Give them a day or two.
