http://www.nytimes.com/2016/05/20/us/politics/donald-trump-immigration.htmlTo prevent flight after arrest, the authorities would have to detain most immigrants awaiting deportation. Existing facilities, with about 34,000 beds, would have to be expanded to hold at least 300,000, Mr. Sandweg estimated, perhaps with tens of thousands of people in detention camps, similar to the internment of Japanese-Americans during World War II.
But no problem, having Drumpf as president, right?
I mean both candidates are the same, right?

(27,742 posts)The wall stuff is all there, along with the means/leverage he plans to use to get Mexico to pay for it. He would suspend all money transfers from "Illegals" to Mexico until Mexico ponies up
the billions to pay for the wall.
The press isn't bothering to cover that part of his speech anymore, but all that stuff is still
there in writing .... at least for now.

(58,785 posts)deportations isn't actually so clever, Observer? Maybe not so yuckable for those wondering if they or relatives could be imprisoned in tent camps in the desert next August?
Of course, I know press coverage is like the picture of an iceberg at best, but I have been preferring to believe he'll just melt away in the end. Surely "it," i.e. Trump, couldn't happen here?
