say the pundits. And, indeed, when one looks (or makes oneself to look) at a Trump rally, all one sees are white faces.
So it is not clear why some polls show him winning. Of course, a lot can happen from now to November still..

(31,700 posts)The former secretary of State trails far behind President Obama when it comes to favorability among Hispanic voters. Seventy-two percent in the poll said they view Obama favorably, while only 26 percent expressed an unfavorable opinion.
The favorability numbers for Trump are far worse than Clinton's. Seventy-four percent said they view the businessman unfavorably, while 23 percent had a favorable opinion of him.

(751 posts)To start with the country is already 70% white.
Secondly, majority minorities are in very blue states (CA, NY, IL). Majority of AAs are in southern states where there is no hope of winning.
The very important and swing states in this cycle (OH, MI, PA, WI, NH, IA, FL) are 80%+ white.
Romney was 1 or 2 million of votes away from winning the whitehouse despite historically low numbers with people of color.
