Jack Nicklaus shilling for der Trumpenführer now.

Ugh.

Golfing legend Jack Nicklaus on Saturday praised presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, saying that his candidacy has turned the country “upside down.”

“I like what Donald has done,” he said in an interview with CBS’s “Sunday Morning.” “He’s turning America upside down, he’s awakening the country.

“We need a lot of that,” he added.

Nicklaus said that Trump’s “not stupid” and that he will eventually learn to be more polished like other politicians.

If I still had them this would be the part where I'd be deleting his golf games from my computer, and if I had any physical media throwing them in the trash.

That should get Trump 0 votes and lose Nicklaus tons of respect.

There was a poll of players on the PGA Tour in Golf Digest during the 2008 presidential campaign. My recollection is that 80-85% of the golfers wanted Senator McCain to win the election.

Most of these men are millionaires. Many are extremely egocentric, as are many other highly paid and/or successful athletes and performers. An awful lot of the pro golfers live in a world of exclusivity and country clubs. It's not the least bit surprising to me that Jack Nicklaus, one of the most successful golfers, is a Republican. After all, he is a member of the 0.1%.

Rory McIlroy for instance is a huge Barack Obama fan.

You can't say that about many US PGA Tour players.

has lost my respect for their judgment.
Trump is 70 years old, for gosh sake.
How many of you expect anyone whose honed his/her character for 70 years to change anything?
Not going to happen.
At 70+ you're pretty much stuck with your manner, demeanor, and habits until you kick the bucket.

(Lest anyone think I'm "ageist", know that I am older than Trump and personally also stuck with a lifetime of habits - good and bad.)

feel that way precisely because he's unpolished. They figure that if he's successful as unpolished as he is, there is some hope for them to be successful as well. Good luck with that.
