"Trump Takes Campaign in Strange Direction"--headline on Morning Joe 24/05/16

The panel generally agree that Drumpf's latest lowblows against Hillary on Twitter (harking back to her husband's excesses in the 90s) are a very bizarre way to try and consolidate his vote with the 69% of women who view him disfavorably.

"I find it hard to believe that 17 years later this will have any more resonance than it did at the time. Bill Clinton's approval numbers shot up when the Repubs tried this back then."~Joe Scarborough

Scar went on to question how this tactic was demonstrating Drumpf's ability to "pivot" to a more presidential posture, which is what analysts agree is crucial.

"Drumpf's latest low blows against Hillary on Twitter (harking back to her husband's excesses in the 90s)."

So I wondered what words he used in those tweets and how he wrote it. Do you have a link or can you quote those tweets?

post convention.

But, I still think that once the dust settles and it just him and her, he won't be able to avoid being who he is (scorpion and frog) and will pull this shit, and I think over time if she handles it as well as I think she will, it will work to her advantage.

All the dehumanizing of Hillary for years and years and years, this SHOULD work to make her more sympathetic to the middlish types.

I think that perhaps his thinking (probably just intuitive gut feeling) is that the fact that Hillary Clinton stuck with Bill, despite all he did and his reputation, says something about her. One could argue that a strong feminist would have dumped Bill and moved on. It shows perhaps a certain opportunistic side of Hillary's personality. After all, her shapeshifting attributes seem to drive her unfavorability ratings. People just don't trust her. Trump's strategy may pan out in the end.

could see her keeping her marriage together as she is a firm believer in marriage and its importance in our society. She could believe in her commitment that says for better or worse. And she could love him despite his failings and vulnerability. All coming from a strong Christian commitment. See how easy it is to turn around your negative spin on it.

Is a net positive, I'd say, especially to voters who weren't adults during the Clinton years.

Emerging from a hugely embarrassing family crisis (a constitutional one at that) to become the powerful, connected, grounded, mature Clinton Family (tm) is a pretty good story. Contrast that with the almost comic-book tawdriness of Trump's love life.

Trump is a fool if he thinks he'll win an artillery battle with Clinton by lobbing Bill's sexual peccadilloes at her.

They choose to stay together. It doesn't bother me at all. I don't understand why it concerns anyone else. Clearly trump doesn't really give a shit about the Clinton marriage or if Bill cheated on Hillary so what do you think his motive is.

The majority of America is tired of reason and calm.

It bores them unfortunately.

People are angry, and they're tired of the same old shit.

And here's Hillary preaching all about continuing Obama's legacy ANND bringing Bill into the fold with her. Two for one!

She may scrape by, the people willing, but it won't be a massacre. Look, her ratings are still falling and she's in a dead heat with dipshit Trump.

That is reality. Look at that big picture and take it ALL in.
