The Truth about the Vietnam War

Hi everyone,

I hardly ever post on DU, but I needed some verification on whether this video is biased or legit. I kind of feel that it's revisionist history. As soon as the guy starts blaming democrats in congress for the failures of Vietnam, I got really annoyed. A friend of mine (leans conservative) emailed the video to me. Can any of you history experts out there provide some counterarguments to the video's claims? I know a little about Vietnam, but not enough to dispute the video. Thanks!

By the time of Johnson's second year, even his Sec. of Defense, McNamara had come to the conclusion that we weren't winning. General after general, starting with Westmoreland was replaced because we weren't winning. News broadcasts, especially C.B.S. began to show doubt about the war.

The professor is talking out of his asshole. His thinking is as sloppy as the fit of his suit.
