Daily Mail:We've heard of pigs not being able to fly, but no one said cows can't take to the skies.
Remarkable footage has emerged of an injured bovine with a bad hoof being airlifted to the vets in the Swiss Alps because she was unable to reach the clinic under her own power.
It was decided that the large creature would be transported in style and her owners arranged for her to hitch a ride with a helicopter, so she could speed through the valleys of Switzerland.
Not entirely clear to me why they didn't just bring the vet to the cow...

(10,201 posts)4. Perhaps cheaper to air lift the cow,
instead of moving the vet and all of their equipment. They may be more equipped at the vet, than they could be on a house call. Also may be cheaper if the poor thing has to be observed for any period of time.
Sort of the same thinking goes into why we fly people from the scene to the hospital, and not the doctor to the scene.
