Donald Trump Tried to Cheat Veterans Out of $1 Million

I want to make this simple. Here's what Donald Trump did recently:

He pledged $1 million to help veterans.
He tried to weasel out of it for months and hoped no one would notice.
When he finally got caught, he ponied up grudgingly and insulted the reporter who caught him.

Even among sleazebags, this is not normal behavior. This is pathological sleaziness. It's literally beyond belief. Do not let Trump distract you with his latest barrage of insults. Do not turn your attention to the latest polls. Do not let this be normalized away as "just another Trump thing."

Maybe we need to put this in simpler terms. $1 million is one ten-thousandth of Trump's claimed wealth. The average American household has a net worth of about $50,000. One ten-thousandth of that is $5. In terms of its effect on his personal finances, what Trump did was the equivalent of promising five bucks to a homeless vet and then trying to weasel out of it. What kind of person would do that?

This deserves far more attention than it's gotten. If character is supposed to be important in our presidents, this is evidence of the most contemptible kind of character imaginable. He tried to cheat a bunch of veterans! Can we please not shrug our shoulders and let this fade away?

are receiving all sorts of government aid. I have relatives that love tRump and every one of them has received assistance in one form or another. Heating, WIC, housing subsidies... yet their FB pages never lack attacks on government. For some time, their pages also contained daily, 'Drug test all welfare recipients'... but now that pot's legal in Oregon, those posts have mysteriously ended.

I cannot afford to give them $5.00; so I give a buck or two to homeless veterans on the streets of Albuquerque, when I meet them. Did you hear what Trump gave Martinez, the Republican Governor of New Mexico on the streets of Albuquerque, last night? Some sources are reporting that Hispanic protestors were tear-gassed, during a protest. How does our Mayor and Police Chief like their jobs? Martinez appears to like hers just fine.

ALBUQUERQUE JOURNAL

Gov. Martinez won’t attend Trump rally in Albuquerque
By Dan Boyd / Capitol Bureau Chief
Monday, May 23rd, 2016 at 4:11pm

Gov. Susana Martinez will not be in the audience when presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump makes a high-profile campaign stop in Albuquerque tomorrow night.

Martinez told reporters after a news conference in Albuquerque today that she will not attend the event.

When asked why, the two-term GOP governor said she was “really busy.”

“I’m the governor of New Mexico and I’m really focused on what’s going on here in New Mexico — just like the announcement we just did with 100 new high-tech and research jobs, improving the education for our kids, another job announcement tomorrow,” Martinez said. “Those are the things that I’m concentrating on and I’m going to keep concentrating on.”

Martinez, who is the chairwoman of the Republican Governors Association, has thus far remained mum on whether she’ll back Trump. Her stance has drawn scrutiny from national Democratic groups, who have called on her to state a position.

KOB 4 NBC TV reports
New Mexico's Republican Governor, Susana Martinez, has publicly stated her opposition to Trump's plan to build a large wall separating the U.S. and Mexico and has yet to endorse him. Her spokesman, Chris Sanchez, has not said whether or not she will attend Tuesday's event at this point.

But the head of the Democratic Party in New Mexico did not hold back from criticizing both Trump and Martinez.

"Donald Trump's racist rhetoric and reckless policy ideas are not welcome in New Mexico. Trump's candidacy has brought the worst out in our country, and as Democrats we denounce his harmful attitudes toward our Hispanic communities, his offensive comments about women, and his outlandish policy ideas," Democratic Party of New Mexico Chairwoman Debra Haaland said in a statement Thursday. "Governor Martinez's skittish behavior about giving him her support is a clear indication of how divisive his candidacy has been." http://www.kob.com/albuquerque-news/donald-trump-rally-set-in-albuquerque/4143508/#.V0RhTeSm0n7

The news on a local radio station 99.5 FM also reported Martinez disapproved of several comments by Trump; but the picture is from a similar report at KOAT ABC TV 7:

Do readers think Martinez will play the "Woman Card?"

After all, this is a man whose singular characteristic is that the only person he has any interest in taking care of is himself. His employees are only worthwhile when their work benefits Donald Trump. Wives exist to show the world that Donald Trump can attract beautiful women. Even his children only show how good Donald Trump's genes are.

When he made this announcement, I asked myself "How would it benefit Donald Trump to give away a million dollars?" Since the answer was "Not at all", I just assumed he'd find a way not to deliver.

If that damned Comey lets her become the Democratic candidate before making an arrest, I'll agree with Trump-trolls, who think Obama made some mistakes. One BIG mistake was making Comey - from the Bush regime - Director of the FBI. Also, where is our new Supreme Court Justice? That's what Comey should investigate; Republicans violating the rule of law (aka US Constitution), while proving they are above the law.
