Cliven Bundy vows to take fight to Supreme Court

BY SERGIO AVILA
WEDNESDAY, MAY 25TH 2016

... Bundy and his attorney claim his constitutional rights are being violated. They feel federal judge Gloria Navarro should be removed from his bail hearings because, in part, she was recommended to her position by Senator Harry Reid.

Bundy feels he's being held as a political prisoner by the Nevada senator and President Barack Obama.

"This judge is taking orders from Harry Reid and President Obama. They want to destroy Cliven Bundy and his family," Hansen said.

Navarro ruled she does not have a conflict in this case ...

Candidates Who Backed the Oregon Militia Overwhelmingly Voted Out
Harney County saw the highest rate of voter participation in the state
By Tessa Stuart May 20, 2016

Voters in rural Harney County, Oregon, overwhelmingly rejected the ideology of right-wing militia members who made the local wildlife refuge famous with their ill-fated occupation earlier this year. Candidates sympathetic to Ammon Bundy and his fellow "patriots" were overwhelmingly voted down in Tuesday's election, according to Oregon Public Broadcasting.

..... 72 percent of eligible voters cast ballots — the highest rate of voter participation in the state.

During the occupation, militia members received support, in the form of food and supplies, from around the country, but Tuesday's election showed there was only tepid enthusiasm for the goal of returning federal land to local control.

Tom Schaefer, a candidate running for county judge who invoked the militia's pet issue in his stump speeches — saying things like, "I think we need to push back with every opportunity and every bit of leverage that we have against these federal agencies that are strangling us" — took third place in his race for county judge.

The winner of that race, former County Commissioner Pete Runnels, opposed the occupation. ...............

Jail imposes limits on Bundy Brothers’ freedoms
05/25/16 04:06 PM
UPDATED 05/25/16 04:09 PM
By Steve Benen
... I was struck by .. a written statement from Ryan Bundy. “My rights are being violated,” he said. “My right to life is being violated. All of my First Amendment rights are being violated. My right to freedom of religion is being violated. My Second Amendment rights are being violated. I never waived that right” ... Ryan Bundy is currently incarcerated ... Bundy doesn’t have to “waive” his Second Amendment rights in order for the corrections department to disarm him ... That’s what happens to people in jail.

Normally I feel for those imprisoned in our barbaric and cruel corrections system, but twerps like Bundy are the first to want to make our prisons more barbaric just as long as it's brown people asking away in them. So he's where he belongs.

3. Sovereign Citizens will really clog up a court system

And they really do it out west and in many other rural areas where the judicial resources are already spread thin

It's one of their favorite tactics

'Sovereign citizens' plaster courts with bogus legal filings--and some turn to violence

The Atta family locked up their Temecula, Calif., home and went on vacation in 2012. While they were gone, Victor Cheng moved in.

Cheng had owned the home before the Attas, but he lost it in foreclosure. Nonetheless, he filed a fraudulent deed with the county recorder’s office, transferred the utilities into his name and even tried to evict the Attas after their return. During his prosecution for burglary, trespassing and filing a false document, he insisted that he was not the person being prosecuted because the indictment spelled his name in all capital letters.

• Cherron Phillips of Chicago was upset that she was barred from the courtroom during her brother’s trial on drug charges. So she filed false $100 billion liens against the property of 12 people involved in the case—including the U.S. attorney and chief judge then serving in the Northern District of Illinois. When she was prosecuted, she insisted on representing herself, called herself River Tali El Bey, then filed numerous documents that the judge called “clotted nonsense.”

SovCit and Militia Groups. All in attempts to get Legal Cases pending to be thrown out on a technicality. It worked in Utah and that was a friendly Judge using the time to trial rule.
