http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/la-me-ln-jkl-cancelled-performances-20160525-snap-story.htmlOutside the El Capitan Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard, the crowd blasted Trump and criticized host Jimmy Kimmel for giving the Republican presidential candidate such a prominent platform on late-night television.
Shame on you, Jimmy Kimmel, one man chanted in a microphone. Gina Hernandez, 28, drove from Pomona after learning of Trump's appearance on the show to protest his stance on immigration.
He has no clue what hes talking about, Hernandez said of the billionaire developer.
Grammy Award-winning singer the Weeknd and Belly, one of the singers frequent co-songwriters, nixed their performance, which was scheduled for the same episode. The two were set to perform Bellys song Might Not.
"I feel like the way I was raised was to be able to see through all the titles in this world from religion to race," Belly said in a statement to the Associated Press.
"I just didn't want to feel like I was a part of a celebration for somebody who has beliefs that majority of us don't agree with."

(18,614 posts)Usually reporters stick to the story they're writing about, but I guess the LA Times just had to include a little cheerleading for Bernie Sanders in an article about The Weekend and Belly.
It made me think though, why wouldn't Sanders accept the challenge to a debate? There's nothing but upside to debating a rank amateur like Trump and it gives the false impression that Trump is taking the man he calls "Crazy Bernie" seriously. I don't imagine the Trump campaign will let it happen.
Less of a bluff and more of another flippant comment that Trump can't back up

(95,337 posts)Which makes me wonder if those Sanders supporter ever heard anything that Trump said or for that matter what Sanders has said.
Because anyone who has listened to both would truly be unable to vote for a Racist, homophobic, sexist a-hole for President.

(27,757 posts)During an appearance on 'Jimmy Kemmel Live' Wednesday night, Trump admitted that he wasn't sincere when he made glowing comments about Bill & Hillary Clinton prior to his bid for the presidency
Kimmel asked:"So you were full of shit?"
Trump's response? "A little bit," he said, laughing.

(397 posts)From the clips I've seen Kimmel was absolutely fawning over the guy. Shameful. The part where he is reading a children's book about how great Trump is made me feel sick.
