Philpot interned at the White House in 1997 as he was attending the University of Utah. He served as a representative in the Utah House from 2001 to 2004, prior to attending law school. Just before the end of his second term, he resigned his seat in order to attend Ave Maria School of Law in Ann Arbor, MI. After graduating law school in 2007, he returned to Utah where he worked for the Utah Attorney General's office. He made an unsuccessful run for Utah governor in 2012, and has served as vice chair of the Utah Republican Party. In January, he announced he was running for a Utah state senate seat ...

(14,400 posts)I forgot about that shithole of a law school. It's got to be one of the worst accredited law schools in the country. You know that if your lawyer went there you should be getting ready for "the chair" because it's pretty much inevitable.
I think it was founded by the fundie wacko founder of Dominoes pizza.

(82,849 posts)As bad as the case was bumping and stumping along up until this time, at least Bundy had a competent attorney. Now it's going to go over to this nincompoop. The next couple of developments will be Ammon whining about his right to a speedy trial (again), followed very shortly by Philpott's filing of a motion for extension or motion to abate the proceedings.
