"Thus, many suburban voters became "Rendellicans"- Republicans who reregistered as Democrats to vote for Ed Rendell in the Democratic Gubernatorial primary. They didn't all switch back.
My one friend had registered as a Republican because he thought he might want to run for office in his Delaware County borough. He's basically a civil libertarian. After he reregistered as a Democrat to vote for Ed Rendell, he stayed in touch with the local Democrats and worked for Joe Sestak when Joe ran for congress in 2006. In 2007, he won election to borough council...as a Democrat."

They are sabotaging President Obama so they can get another corporate shill into the WH and we can have war with Iran - more money to them and their MIC masters.

Here is a man who is trying hard to do something for the country, and all he get is disloyalty and derision from his own party seeking to actively make him a one-term president so they can hold on to the millions they've garnered as OUR employees in Government.

That can only conclude to anyone watching that President Obama is a thorn in both the Republicans' and Democrats' eyes. They've decided, he needs to go since he's not playing ball and he cares too much for us citizens of the unwashed masses.

the funds to close Gitmo and bring the people into our country for trial. When they heard he would try to bring them in one at a time anyway, they added to the bill that he was not allowed to do that, either.

Yet they themselves had been campaigning on closing Gitmo - until they got re-elected, of course. Then, when seeing all those billions for the MIC drop, they were suddenly concerned about what the American people would think and they voted against President Obama.

It was then when I knew how much the Democrats scratched the Republicans' backs.

I think he's working hard for Michelle and his daughters and his reputation...and against odds...but, I don't see a "FIGHTER" there in his bones.

It's what it is. But, I do agree about the RW Attack against him. It would be true no matter what kind of Dem we manged to get into office, though. So, I don't see it "Personal" against Obama...but "Personal" against anything Left of Ronald Reagan and the Bushes.

Just saying....2 cents...

But I wonder and I worry . . . But then again - I'm still po'd about how the SCOTUS ruled on the 2000 Election. I believe 100% that President Obama will win - but sometimes when you win you don't GET to win.

Make sense? The only way is if every single person who sees the 'evil' (yes I wrote evil - because that's what they are to me) on the Right - gets out and votes. We are going to need overwhelming numbers to combat the shenanigans that are already in play.

Example: Florida.

but apparently even a few here seem to feel they're above fighting for our rights and instead take to supporting "opposing views" within our ranks, not getting it that they're playing by the Koch Bros "divide and conquer" playbook perfectly.

Yep. Standing above the fray and criticizing President Obama worked out really well for the country in 2010, didn't it? Oh how easily some forget.

Everyone who doesn't toe the party line and simply says what they think is somehow a DINO or stealth Republican etc. The intolerance for opposing views and rigid orthodoxy on the part of some of you runs counter to what the democratic party stands for.

Anyone who says they're sure Obama will win and is telling the truth is an idiot, especially after what happened in Wisconisin

What part of united we stand, divided we fall don't Democrats and some Liberals get?? This is why WE LOSE POWER. We have the tendency to blame our own instead of focusing on the enemy, and yes, in these hyper-partisan times thanks to the Tea Baggers, the other side is the enemy - of my future, that of my children, and that of this country.

... but on the quote in the OP alone, I don't condemn him.

Consider this:

"Now, here are a few things you should know about this race in the aftermath of yesterday's news:

-- We are not guaranteed to win this election. If there's anyone still out there acting like we have this thing in the bag, do me a favor and tell them they're dead wrong."

From today's OFA fundraiser email.

Is OFA to be condemned, too?

People here seem to forget how stupid and easily manipulated a majority of the electorate is.

Elections are not about merit, they are about perception.

How many elections have been lost due to early assumption of win?

Clinton lost the primary to Obama because of that attitude. Coakley lost that way. Isn't that how Mittens got to be guv of Mass?

Never, ever take wins for granted. That is the first way they become losses.

Democrats in the Party. I never liked Rendell, so it's no surprise to see him do this. He does it with a smile and tells stories about how great 'Obama is at telling stories, telling jokes, no really, he's a nice guy' etc. BS.

And while these Democrats go all over TV and attack, no matter how subtly they think they are doing it, the President, here on DU we are obsessed with a blogger called Glenn Greenwald.

If the DLCers in the party are upset with Obama trying to do something to appeal to those who are most likely to elect him, but are disappointed in some of his policies, (maybe he was listening to THEM?) then it's time to let them know that what the people want is the Obama who ran for President, and that if he sticks to policies like ending the Bush Tax cuts despite their horror at the thought, he is far more likely to get the support he needs to win in November.
