Time to throw Pap under the bus, Hillary supporters
Let's see. . .what good liberals have been thrown under the bus this primary season by good Democrats that put party over principle?
Susan Sarandon.
Mike Malloy
Cenk Uyger
Rosario Dawson
Seth Macfaralane
Sarah Silverman
Thom Hartman
Most Bernie Sanders supporters (if not all)
I guess it's Mike Papantonio's time to get thrown under the bus for saying that Democrats are now Republican Lite.

(15,235 posts)I am more curious about what Xi thinks. While communications systems, other than Comcast - like AT&T - which also promoted net neutrality, are backing Republicans they, allow China to run roughshod over their corporations, the internet and us consumers, simply to obtain slave labor in Beijing. That ancient city was once a world wonder. Now, it is poisoned with unchecked pollution, which destroys architectural art and people who live or work there. That smog affects the entire planet, eventually. Meanwhile, saber rattling with Beijing is still resonating in Washington DC.

(3,839 posts)I refuse to allow myself to be associated with conservative policies like HRC's love of fracking, DWS's love of Citizens United and the corruption of the DNC.
So, Let's all be center right since that's what Democrats are now. So happy I'm not one and can vote principles over party.

(85,148 posts)You wouldn't have done that if you had any interest in the direction of the party. You're letting the party be "center-right" in your opinion.

(3,839 posts)I left the Party and am very happy I did.
Now I don't have to justify people like DWS, Zell Miller, Joe Lieberman, Ben Nelson, Bill Nelson or people who think Kissinger was a good man.

(449 posts)When the party leadership stops representing the views of those that vote them into office it is understandable those people may change their official registration. People are not required to maintain commitment to politicians if those politicians keep dicking them over, you know?
People unregistering from the party would hopefully make party leadership aware that it needs to recalibrate a bit.
People registered as Democrat specifically for Sanders. The DNC spat on that potential turnout out of some misguided sense of loyalty developed by Clinton over some 20+ years.
Understandably, once Clinton is elected she will do her best to reward those loyal to her. That quid pro quo (loyalty in exchange for political clout down the line) is the enemy of progress and practically begs to maintain the status quo. Nobody rock the boat, please!
Long post short, leaving the party doesn't mean someone doesn't care about the party. Some people feel it's the only recourse they have.

(17,376 posts)Egg 'em into leaving the party if they don't like it. Too many to deal with within the Party, so push 'em out. That'll do a lot for the "Party". Nevermind that almost half the members feel that way and 12% or so (of voters) already left the Party in the past 15 years or so.
That'll do wonders for you Buster.

(31,155 posts)A lot of current democrats pay a lot of attention to social issues which the democratic party is actually pretty good on but Wall Street doesn't give a fuck about gay marriage, minority issues and women's rights so they don't fund those battles. So there is an illusion that the current democratic party is independent of the powerful but when it comes to keeping the money flowing from the poor and middle class up to the 1%, the Democratic Party is just as much of an enabler as the Republican Party and totally bought off. How anyone can't understand this just fucking blows my mind. We have NO party looking out for labor and the middle class! ZERO! And those of us who want to wean ourselves off of Wall Street's nipple and put the party back to where it USE to be are called some kind of radical, grass roots movement. It just boggles my mind and really makes me feel hopeless that the party of FDR is nothing more than a moderate Republican Party about where Eisenhower was and the Republicans are off the charts, bat shit crazy!

Just "bread lines are a sign of economic health" communists.
Just communist "censorship of the press is great" communists.
Just "lets hang flags of dictatorships" communists.
The real question is, why are communists posting on the Democratic Underground? There are communist websites out there, where they can wallow in their failed ideology.
