Rising anti-Semitism forces Jews out of Paris suburbs

Jews who have lived peacefully in the suburbs of Paris are now having to move to other parts of the country or head for Israel to escape anti-Semtism.

When Alain Benhamou walked into his apartment near Paris in July 2015 and saw the words "dirty Jew" scrawled on the wall, he knew it was time to leave.

It was his second such break-in in less than three months and the 71-year-old no longer felt welcome in Bondy, a Parisian suburb he had called home for more than 40 years.

"Until the years 2000-2005, the town was nice and quiet, with 250 to 300 Jewish families and synagogues full on the Sabbath," Benhamou says.

"Now, only about a hundred Jewish families remain."

Amazing that someone can post blatantly anti-Semitic nonsense and remain a member here. Unsurprisingly, the guy that authors that web site is buddies with David Duke.

What specific action did this elderly man take to be given this as karma?

Or is yours merely another unsupported allegation created to validate a deeply held bias discriminating against others but little more?

in fact as more people are pushed out of Europe there is a greater shortage of land in Israel the worse the situation becomes in palestine

That uses anti-Semetic, neo-Nazi hate sites to attack a Democratic candidate of Jewish heritage because "they don't agree with it but people say" argument.

The "I'm not saying he is a dirty Jew but I read it on the Internet" is just as disgusting as this article about what is happening in France.

See the first post, which, surprisingly, was hidden! Most people are probably familiar with the racist version of "There are black people, and there are..." (you can guess the next word without my needing to write it). That statement is something people say when they have convinced themselves they aren't racists because it is only the "bad ones" they dislike. It is very similar in regards to anti-Semitism, especially certain anti-Semitic tropes; Jews are more loyal to Israel; Jews control Hollywood; Jews control the banks; Jews play the "Holocaust card" too much. Those are used on both sides of the aisle, but what is really disappointing is how often they are "no longer considered anti-Semitic" if the statement is made from the left. Of course, who says it doesn't determine if it is anti-Semitic or not.

There are plenty of radical Muslims in the Paris Ghettos. No ghetto in any nation is safe. Trump and Republicans plan to turn real, nice middle-class suburbs into ghettos. Hey another "Housing Bubble" to buy great property near the few remaining high-paying jobs, for fire-sale prices. "NO COMMUTE CONDOS."

I know it is happening elsewhere in Europe as well. Though, in a kind of supreme cosmic irony, Jews are actually going to Germany!

However, they have been addressing it as it crops up. Probably not the smartest way to handle it, but at least they are showing it attention. With recent events, I am uncertain what the French government is doing, if anything. I'll keep my peepers peeled.

Mostly in Quebec as they have larger French speaking population. And a larger orthodox population. The west coast is nice too, if they'd like to check it out. We don't have as many yeshivish and the only chassidim are Lubavitchers but Vancouver is nice too!
