Oregon Militant Leaders Unhappy With Jail Rules, Want Facebook

Facepalm.

Ammon and Ryan Bundy, leaders of an armed occupation in Oregon earlier this year, are unhappy with the rules in their jail.

The brothers have been in custody since their arrest in January. But at Multnomah County Detention Center, they’ve got demands: Ryan Bundy wants to see his brother. He feels his Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms has been violated. He doesn’t want people rifling through his stuff. Both have said they want access to the internet, including Facebook and email, in order to prepare their defense. They want chairs in their cells so they don’t have to kneel to write, a better computer, a cordless printer, a scanner, external hard drives and Microsoft Movie Editor. They also want to strategize with the other occupiers involved in the armed takeover of a federal wildlife refuge near Burns, Oregon, for which they face federal conspiracy and other charges.

“If they are going to detain us as innocent men, then they are obligated to afford us the rights to defend ourselves and emotionally connect to our families,” Ammon Bundy told The Huffington Post in an email sent by one of his attorneys, Mike Arnold.

Bundy also called jail “a job programs for more government employees rather than a system that brings justice and fair due process.”

You gotta be fucking kidding me. Facebook? What the fuck do you need Microsoft Movie Editor for while you're in the slammer?

The Bundys are an exception. They have a track record of using the Internet to rally other sovereign citizens to their aid. Given this, and that sovereign citizens have their own "language" which only they understand, it is of the utmost importance the Bundys NOT be allowed access to Facebook. You freakin' know what would happen next: Every sovereign citizen nutball between Portland and the South Dakota state line would converge on the Multnomah County Jail some Sunday morning, each equipped with an armful of guns, demanding the Bundys be turned over to them.

and I didn't know SPLC made videos targeted to educate law enforcement. They do excellent research and reporting, case studies, etc. I hope the cops are watching these. Good stuff. Good for them.

There are some cops in this country that have already made it clear that they'd throw in with these nuts in a heartbeat if they thought for one moment they could get away with it.

Back in 2012 where I lived one of those sovereign citizen guys ran for sheriff as a Republican where I lived. This guy was way out there, he wasn't even a certified police officer in Iowa. Think to the right of Joe Arpaio. He was going around saying that he was "pro gun" and would not even follow the orders of the county supervisors if they gave him an order that conflicted with his own personal interpretation of the Constitution, especially in regards the Second Amendment. He was rather handily defeated in the general - there were people who voted straight Republican except for the Sheriff's office. They voted for the incumbent Democrat for Sheriff.

The sovereigns aren't just nutty, but scary-nutty

I'm glad to see the federal government has analyzed them so thoroughly. Should be easier to spot them and prevent more of what appears to be assassinations of law enforcement (The 'in memoriam' at the end had quite a few where it was obvious they wanted no witnesses as two officers were killed at a time.)

I feel that any attempt at educating them would be met with accusations of "re-education" and "FEMA Internment Camps" rhetoric. Honestly, in their case, it truly is an example of "You can't fix stupid!"

This one is incredibly head-shaking dumb:
"secret Treasury Direct Account that the government funded at their birth."

If they're so distrustful of the government, how can they then believe that such a thing exists?

Now, I do wonder how they'd react to someone doing the one-fisted salute and stating "Hail Hydra!"

Sure, they've been spoiling for their end-of-the-world big apocalyptic fight, but jeepers! Being in jail sucks! Nobody ever said they'd be the cannon fodder for the first round of the final battle. They were supposed to be sitting there next to Adam/God/Deity watching the wicked get what's coming to them while they laughed about all the judgment being handed out. Here they are sitting in a jail cell, and nobody gives a flying fart about their predicament.

Bummer, dudes. That savior is sure taking his sweet time, isn't he? That whole tribulation thing was supposed to happen to other people, not you elect of the lord.

And to top it off, I suppose they want all that shit at tax payers expense, too.

if they get on the internet they will use it to coordinate more terrorist activities.

that being said i'm actually inclined to give them any of the other stuff they want for writing and making movies, because the stream of nonsense and lunacy sure to spew forth from their brains is sure to be good for a laugh.
