Please help me understand part of the Clinton email scaldal

On a message board I follow they are linking to a Breitbart story which says that the Clinton emails revealed the identity of CIA assets a la the Plame scandal during the Bush administration:

I tried to look for references on this issue, but all I could find was a large number of conservative sites rehashing these allegations. Is there any balanced or progressive commentary on this issue out there? Thank you.

1. There is zero evidence of that and the Right wing defended the Bush administration's outing of

Valerie Plame. All of Rove's emails were kept on the RNC server and wiped clean. This is just a political witch hunt.

2. Yes the republicans did defend the outing of Valerie Plame, and the media carried their water.

However Rove was not a Secretary of State, apples and oranges comparing the wiping of the RNC server and Clinton's private server. I do not believe the man Obama appointed to head the FBI is a partisan hack who is conducting a political witch hunt.

8. The FBI is investigating her and the IG at the State Department evaluated Hilary's failures on

records management and the cybersecurity requirements laid out by the State Department. You fool yourself into thinking that the State Department and Obama's FBI are looking into her actions for political reasons. If Obama and Kerry believed that for one single second the FBI and State were conducting a witch hunt they would be all over that. Like I said ,Clinton was obligated to preserve her communications as SOS Rove was a political hack working within the RNC, those two positions and their actions are hardly comparable. But by all means please continue to do so because when you have to use Roves actions to justify Hillary's it really speaks volumes about you and your candidate.

11. You deflect. Rove was in the White House and had the ear of the President. Breitbart defended

Rove and Cheney's role in the Plame outing. Cheney used executive priviledge to shield his emails and Rove stored his on the RNC server of which ALL were wiped. Breitbart defended these actions at the time. Your deflections won't work on me.

15. That has nothing to do with your claim that the FBI and the State Department are conducting

a witch hunt. Hillary can not claim executive privilege to shield her emails and Rove is nothing more than a sleazy political operative. There was no laws requiring his e mails be preserved.

Republicans do sleazy things, most of us expect better from democrats. If any agents had been outed in Clinton's e mails Obama's FBI would have found that out immediately and would have gone on from there. My point is the FBI and State do not do witch hunts, not under Obama.

9. Seriously, I'm not trolling

I would like to refute this on a military message board I post on. But, I'd like to refute it with solid references. My buddy here on the squad told me that all the State Department info is originally posted unclassified, then given a classification if there is a Freedom of Information request on it. I'd like to have a reference to verify that kind of factual info that is lost in the media noise and right wing flatulence on the email scandal. Really, I promise you I'm not trolling this issue.

When I looked and saw that dozens of right-wing posts were referring to this I felt it needed a rebuttal. I would appreciate any help.

That's absolutely false and has been a particularly bad lie that's unfortunately taken root.

Information can be "born" classified. Ie it has names, places, identifiers that make them classified even if there's no label. Hillary was trained to recognize that.

In order to speed up the transmission of a set of talking points, Hillary Clinton asked an aide to send information to her through a “nonsecure” channel so we know she knew the rules.

In an email marked June 17, 2011, that was released by the State Department on Friday, Clinton informs aide Jake Sullivan that she has not yet received a set of talking points.

“They say they’ve had issues sending secure fax,” Sullivan says. “They’re working on it.”

“If they can’t, turn into nonpaper w no identifying heading and send nonsecure,” Clinton responds.

7. W's White House outed Plane, and any of her assets

subsequently uncovered are their responsibility.. A staffer fall guy went to prison, then was pardoned by W. The only real question is, was W in on this literally treasonous act or did it stop just below? "Plausible denial?"

By the way, people don't read Breitbart for information. Tey read it for propaganda; and the smart ones don't believe it, they just want to know what propaganda is being pushed and if they're conservatives what to promote.

For instance, thanks to you I now know that they are, as usual, trying to push another W administration crime off onto the Democrats, via then Democratic senator Hillary.

AFAIK no assets have been revealed.

2200 emails were classified, including top secret. Any potential leaks might be in one of those but they haven't been released so nobody knows that information and I certainly would not trust Breitbart to know.
