JetBlue pilot decides this outfit is unacceptable. woman told to change

A JetBlue passenger says the airline has apologized to her after gate agents at Logan Airport forced her to change her shorts because they were too short, CBS Boston reports.

The woman from Seattle, a burlesque performer who goes by the name Maggie McMuffin, told CBS station KIRO-TV she was stopped after she tried to board a connecting flight at Logan May 18 wearing a sweater, thigh high socks and shorts.

She said she was told, "The flight crew had discussed it and the pilot had decided that I needed to put something else on or I would not be allowed to board the flight."

The captain could decide that nobody wearing purple was allowed to fly, and there would be no grounds for a lawsuit. If, however, he ordered all Muslims to leave the plane then there would be. (Of course in either case he would probably be fired by the airline).

I get the point, just trying to guess what the poster meant and that was my guess. I guess it would be a frivolous lawsuit, but they do get filed too.

I just wonder what danger the passenger brought onboard, besides a bad taste in clothing.

It's not the most outrageous thing anyone has worn when flying in a sardine can.

Pilots shouldn't give two shits about what someone is wearing.

Wonder why it was the pilot...I mean, they usually don't see the passengers.

Because you're sitting in a cramped plane and you mostly look at the backside of the seat in front of you.

Pretty pointless, in my opinion.

It looks like a come-as-you-are bet was lost or maybe she's just terminally tacky. I imagine the reasoning was that her legs and bum were insufficiently protected to manage the emergency slide in case of trouble.
