NRA Succeeding in Brainwashing Good Guys With Guns

I am always flummoxed when gun owners hear of even the slightest attempt at gun regulation, and immediately jump to the conclusion: "They are coming for my guns!". There is also always the prerequisite, "But, but in Chicago...".

It's akin to proposing vehicle safety laws and having a car owner vehemently protest, "They are coming for my cars!!". Exhibit A from last weeks town-hall in Elkhart, Indiana. The president had to breakdown the facts(again) for a law abiding gun owner. Sadly, I suspect, this will continue to fall on the deaf ears of victims of a successful brainwashing campaign by the National Rifle Association.

Paranoia fueled by the NRA and the corporate media. A media that is partly controlled by weapons manufacturers with a vested interest in fueling fear and insecurity and showing guns as the solution.

Fear sells, and in this case fear sells weapons. A very profitable industry that uses some of the profits to purchase politicians from both major parties.
