Trump is challenging a deranged individual to "do something" about Judge Curiel

Trump is perfectly entitled to file a motion for recusal of the judge on whatever grounds they see fit.

Are they unethically failing to represent their client zealously?

Or does Mr. Trump expect someone else to take some other sort of action against this judge?

Petrocelli first gained national media exposure in 1997 when, as a partner at the law firm Mitchell, Silberberg & Knupp, he represented Fred Goldman, the father of murder victim Ron Goldman, in a wrongful death civil suit against O.J. Simpson. Petrocelli successfully argued the case, in spite of Simpson's 1995 acquittal in the related 1994 criminal murder case, and a jury awarded the Goldman family $8.5 million in damages. His book about the case, Triumph of Justice: The Final Judgment on the Simpson Saga (1998), written with co-author Peter Knobler, became a national bestseller.

If this were West Virginia, Trump could just run his own bought-and-paid-for candidate and get it over with.

2. They haven't asked for his

recusal due to bigotry because they have ZERO proof he's a bigot. The lawyers are very well aware they can get sanctioned for that and aren't willing to put their careers in law on the line for their imbecile client. So they'll let donnie whine and bitch all he wants but they WONT be asking for a recusal.

and donnie will get his. In the meanwhile his lawyers aren't going to destroy their own careers by accusing a judge of bias and bigotry without any proof.

3. If Trump gets a different judge, he could no longer whine and play the victim.

If he gets sentenced by a "controversial" judge, he can milk that in so many ways. Media-attention, talking-points, voter-enthusiasm...

But if he gets sentenced by the blandest of old, white, male judges, what could he possibly do about it to turn this into a win?


And what happens if Trump gets a different judge and the new one is worse than the old one?

4. Well, that's why judges should be old white men

You see, old white men can look at things objectively and neutrally, since they aren't carrying around a lot of resentment about so-called "racism", "sexism", and what-have-you.

Oh, and I should add old, white, Christian men, to be clear.

And, oh yeah, duh, straight, of course.

Old, white, straight Christian men, preferably of a mainline Protestant denomination, although there are occasionally Catholics who can put aside their biases in order to be objective and neutral.

9. I can see it now: Motion to Disqualify For Ruling Against Me Thereby Displaying Bias.

Trump would keep on accusing anyone who rules against him as unfair and biased. Anyone who fails to give him what he wants is bad, evil and stupid.

In my state, Oregon, you have to file your motion to disqualify before the judge rules on anything. After that, no judge shopping. Of course, one can imagine extraordinary circumstances where you could move for a new judge, but not based on 'unfair' rulings.
