mistakes need not be that big a deal or punishable.
Or do they?
I made one of those mistakes a few weeks back, posted in the wrong forum, got locked for that reason, and to my surprise and amazement have not been asked to serve on a jury since.
Coincidence?

I start new threads in GD fairly often, but rarely in GDP (only 1 this year). So I see that often when posting for GD, and have got used to clicking the bottom right button for "yes, I've got this right". Yesterday, I had something to post in GDP, and went to the GDP forum and clicked 'start a discussion' - and got the identical 'stop screen' . Thinking 'yes, I've got this right', I clicked the right hand button. Which then put my thread in the wrong forum.

It's a bit late now, but I would have advised a design that shows a different screen when you come from GDP than from GD - so that people who know they came from the correct forum don't just use position to do what they want. After a few months, I expect few people do read the screen every time they see it.

I've got no interest in joining the primary fray on DU. I've wandered into GD-P a couple of times, but the rhetoric-without-any-objective-thought isn't conducive to real conversations so I typically beat a hasty retreat.

But, increasingly, it keeps intruding in GD.

But self-deleted quickly after. You'd think if you originated the post in GD, it'd have GD as the first button, not GDP.
