Andrea Farrington is dead, at the hands of an Open Carry Activist, and some on DU are lying about it

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by one_voice (a host of the General Discussion forum).

(X-posted from the Iowa forum: http://www.democraticunderground.com/10514376 )

Look, I understand that there are those here on DU who like to ridicule the very notion that the lives of Iowans matter.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1002&pid=7073424

And there are those who like to cast doubt on whether it ever even happened.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1172&pid=192039

But why, just as Alexander Kozac is sentenced to life in prison, are folks here on DU actually lying about her murder?

Iowan Lives Matter, and it's no joke!

A post on Kellie Kozak’s Facebook page detailing a visit to Costco in which her husband was apparently carrying a sidearm indicates the pair are strong supporters of the Second Amendment. Ken Kozak said his son-in-law was responsible with weapons.

Kozak — who is currently being held on $10 million bail — is married to Kellie Kozak, who recently posted pictures on her Facebook page of a visit to Costco where her husband can be seen carrying a sidearm.

A- Zimmermann broke no current laws, acted reasonably and Florida laws relating to any of his actions need no changes

So we should no longer have jury trials or even trials at all? We should just string him up, wow, that seems inappropriate, right?

causality that did not exist.

"He tried to take his gun into a Costco in an Open Carry Demonstration, but he was stopped by management before he was able to get inside.

So he took his gun to a local mall and murdered a woman."

I would replace the word "So" to "He later".

The facts of the case are that he texted multiple times with the victim. He got creepy in his interactions with her. She complained. The mall security employer took some steps to separate them. Another creepy interaction with another complaint. Employer called him on the carpet. He went back to his home and got his gun. He came to the mall and shot her three times in the back.

He definitely was a gun's rights advocate, but he also was a creep with an uncontrollable temper. I pray we don't have another trial, and he spends the rest of his life in jail where he belongs.

It's not that Iowans' lives don't matter per se; it's that no one's life is more important than Scalia's hard-right interpretation of the 2nd amendment.

He/she had a post hidden (see above), I guess because of the term "troll." I'm a bit confused myself. If I had altered on such a post, it would have been upheld 7-0, and the responses would have been rather ugly as to why I had alerted.

Strange DU days, indeed.

The majority of my hidden posts are 4-3.

I asked if the poster was old enough to post at DU.

Yeah, I deserved it. Still, having that post hidden, only made me wonder more.

Still, I'm going to start alerting on myself. That way, I won't have any hidden posts.

Factually untrue. Debate is encouraged in the guns group.

Only one group involving guns blocks opposing viewpoints, and it isn't the gun group.

They didn't earn the moniker 'bansalot' for nothing.
