Donald Trump issued a statement this afternoon in response to the giant media firestorm over his racially-charged attacks on the Hispanic judge in the Trump University case.

“It is unfortunate that my comments have been misconstrued as a categorical attack against people of Mexican heritage,” Trump says. “I am friends with and employ thousands of people of Mexican and Hispanic descent.”
