Ran into a Trump supporter today....

Him: (Noticing my Bernie stuff on the car) "So who are you going to vote for now that your boy got it stolen from him?"

Me: "I guess I'll have no choice but to vote for whoever the Dems run."

Him: "Really? I know some super-delegates who say they're going to switch to Trump.

Me: "You don't know what a super-delegate is, do you."

Him: (Taken aback) "Yeah I do."

Me: "How can a Democratic super-delegate vote at the Republican Convention?"

<pause>

Him: (Moving on) "I'm not for either party. I'm an Independent. I'm not for the "Demoncrats" or the "Republican'ts"."

Me: "Harry Truman once said, 'Anyone who calls himself an Independent isn't going to vote for me."

Him: "They had independents back then? I thought that was something that started in the 90s."

Me: "Do you realize you sound like someone who gets all of their information from right-wing propaganda?"

Him: (Proudly) "I don't even own a computer." (He's in his 20s) Trump will make other countries FEAR us again (this is a plus for him) unlike the Muslim we have in there now."

Me: "Well I like Bernie."

Him: "I could never vote for a Socialist. It would be spitting in the eye of our boys who fought and died in Fallujah."

Me: "Do you think we fought the war in Iraq to defeat Socialism? Why didn't we invade Denmark, or Canada?"

Him: "All of those countries are Commie."

Me: "Really?"

Him: "Yeah."

Me: "France, England, Norway, Sweden, Finland,....all commie?"

Him: "Sure."

Me: "I thought Reagan won the Cold War. That sounds like a loss to me. Bet you admire Putin too for his strong leadership."

Him: (Looking at me like I know things I shouldn't know.)

Me: "By the way, I was alive back then and can tell you Reagan sucked."

Him:

I bet the nitwit has a pocket computer (with a phone app) and uses it to get all his info from buddies on Facebook and Instagram.

"don't even own a computer"? Hah! Has at least one on his person at all times, a dozen embedded in devices in his house and about five in his car.

If he "doesn't own a computer," perhaps he uses one at work on the sly to visit all those sites he denies visiting.

If he "doesn't own a computer," does he listen to radio and watch TV? Usually people, esp. 20-somethings, are most eager to ditch the TV first.

If he doesn't get his info from a computer (excepting pocket computer, see above) and has no radio and no TV, he is not only ignorant, but proudly ignorant.

Red overpriced penis car rear ended a beat up Honda at enough speed to leave 2 car-lengths worth of skidmarks on the road.

Red car was smashed to hell in the front and had Trump stickers on the bumper.

Honda was pristine, had a "Feel the Bern" sticker on the back.

Cop filling out the report was shaking his head and laughing. One of the few times I wish the rubberneckers had slowed traffic down enough that I could snap a pic. XD

Tue Jun 7, 2016, 10:04 PM
Jun 2016

Maybe because I'm REALLY white (pale, blonde, green eyed) and I have an easy time talking to strangers, they open up to me after a few moment's chat, and their non-sequitur explodes quickly into right wing trope, replete with racism. As soon as they go there, my smiling face disappears and I always say "no,no,no, gonna stop you right there, we need to stop talking right now". Oddly enough, these idiots always try and continue the conversation to convince me of their "logic".

It's actually kinda funny, them talking to my back and me ignoring them (it usually takes place on long lines in some store or another). I always detect people looking at me, smirking, pointing their eyes at said moron and shaking their head as if to say "yeah, I hear him. What a moron".

25. They like Trump for the same reasons they liked Bush
Tue Jun 7, 2016, 09:33 PM
Jun 2016

Bush wasn't overtly racist. He didn't do enough for New Orleans and his mother had some choice racist comments during that time, but it really has nothing to do with that. Or sexism, or bigotry. It is having someone to be the President that is like a movie character, bigger than life, and defying the odds. In the movies there are all kinds of "heros" who brag constantly, and BACK IT UP. They are surly and violent and even abusive and crude. Many times the government/CIA etc. is after them at the same time but they know they are right so they push on. And they always win in the end!

These conditioned Americans think this is actually possible. That they can have a President that will take on the world, and by hook or by crook, he will defeat any and all comers. Because nobody is better than them. Making America Great Again, is not about unemployment, or job growth, or home ownership, or poverty levels, infrastructure upkeep, health, education....its about how loud we'all can brag to not only the world but all the bleeding hearts out there that are weaklings because they are not greedy enough to want it all for themselves, they want to share, be nice, get along etc... and the one in the movies that does that is usually blown to bits. They want to be able to brag, without responsibility to actually back it up, and have a yuuuuuuuuuge braggart above them they can take strength from and give credence to their own assholishness.

According to the Center for Public Integrity’s review of Federal Election Commission data, over a 14-month time period from January 2015 through February 2016, the Clinton and Sanders campaigns together received at least $765,049 from employees of major defense contractors — more than twice the $357,775 sum received by the Republican Party’s three remaining presidential candidates. Among the current GOP contenders, Texas Senator Ted Cruz, who has called for large increases in defense spending, won the lion’s share of defense industry donations, receiving $307,955.

that 40% - 45% of Americans think like this guy. Total emotional jingoism picked up from his fellow ignorant friends, heard on RW radio, and repeated over and over to demonstrate his so-called patriotism and machoism. Defunding public education by Republicans is partly to blame. I wonder if he even has a high school diploma? His reading comprehension is probably not so high either. I'll bet there's no public library card in his wallet. God only knows what he feels about women and minorities. This is the face of ignorance, and it is what keeps him locked in low-pay jobs and endless suffering. Very very sad.
