Besides, he seems to be more secondary these days. He has a few big moments here and there, like at the conventions in 2008 and 2012 but he isn't the scrappy politician that he used to be.

He's got lots of charisma, and if he takes too big a role it'll look like HRC is merely his puppet running as his surrogate. I'm sure they've had plenty of discussions about the role he'll play in the campaign. As the campaign moves into Sept and Oct and gets as ugly as I think it will I expect we'll see the real Bill Clinton.

You could have included Elizabeth Warren, however. Regardless... you are so right, as Biden and Warren have already proved. These guys will not be intimidated and lying down under Trump's bluster. In fact, face-to-face will be even better. It will say even more about the ability of the Republican candidates who let a blowhard like Trump roll all over them, then lay down and kissed his feet.

Trump does not look at all healthy! Of course, he'd refuse a physical, just as he's refused to release his tax information. His getting away with such stuff will be taken far differently by his opponents in the general election, than by his intimidated primary opponents.

When HRC's campaign broke the promise of a debate with Sanders in April and May, they handed Trump the excuse he'll use to refuse... simple.

The smarter people on the Repub side got the measure of the cowardice of the HRC campaign in their running away from Sanders.

That, and HRC herself may want to tell the progressives to go pound sand, refuse Sanders a floor speech at the convention, and skitter to the right to chase after Repub votes in the fall. Don't dismiss the difficulty of the GE.

The only people upset about Hillary not doing yet another debate with Sen Sanders were Sander's supporters. He'll have to debate for the general election. You DO remember that donnie himself didn't debate during his primary run when he didn't want to, don't you? Or do you just remember stuff you didn't like about Hillary? This sore loser bullshit is getting old.

Anyone who's followed his career at all, knows he's a nice guy who's still a formidable legislator and politician. I was really anticipating the 2012 vice presidential debate because I knew that Joe would (genially) take Ryan apart. I knew that the press "would be surprised" as well.

Hillary needs an awesome VP to help excite the voters. I do not think Bernie is the choice because I think he can do way more good in the Senate. I'd rather Hillary pick someone like Cory Booker or one of the Castro brothers. I'm fine if it was Elizabeth Warren but I think she too serves us better in the Senate.
