Confederate name John B. Hood could be stripped from Dallas school (TX)

Students at John B. Hood Middle School who voted to strip the Confederate general’s name from their school will find out this month if they’ll get their way.

The Dallas ISD Board of Trustees will discuss a recommendation by a majority of students at the school to change the name to Piedmont Global Academy at Thursday’s board briefing. Trustees will vote June 23 — with a majority expected to support the change ...
