(41,915 posts)I can't say it's that here but it's a way that antisemites are marking something as Jewish. I can't imagine what this is about.

(20,176 posts)Gingrich is a convert to Catholicism (and the Neo-nazis hate Catholics, converts even more than life-long)...and for all of his other faults, he's been critical for years of white-supremacist/nationalist militias as being dangerous and Anti-American. (Part of this comes out of his work as a Civil War historian (That's what his job was before running for Congress; he's a history professor)...he's debunked more than a few of the racist lies the Southern white-supremacists cling to about the War.)
I can't think they like him much more than they like Jewish people. It's very much a case of the "enemy of my enemy isn't my friend either."

(745 posts)CBS - Report: FBI pulls deleted emails from Hillary Clinton's server
Not much to attack/make fun of trump on, I really don't find it very funny. We're going to need to address these issues constructively, otherwise Clinton is going to be handed her hat - imagine Trump bringing that up as a response... GOP would go wild and Hillary is going to have to do a lot better than "What? Wipe the server? Like with a cloth?".
I would suggest she not mention the phrase "delete" in such a manner that could prompt thought of her own 'deletion' issue.
'We' may write it off, but in reality we don't know... what we do know is there is an investigation that needs to play out, one of which the GOP is going to have a party with, wrong or right. We know elections aren't won with truth, that's for sure.
TO EVERYONE: Not picking bones, following the new post-primaries TOS as to how to rectify shortcomings with the presidential candidate:
Now, I'm not a mind reader and I can't know for certain what everyone's intentions are. But I think that if the criticism is coming from a place of "wanting her to succeed" then that will be reflected in the tone and substance of the post. If the criticism is coming from a place of "wanting to tear her down" then that will be reflected in the tone and substance of the post. If you are here on DU then you are supposed to be supporting the Democratic nominee against the Republican nominee in the general election -- it shouldn't be very hard to write a post in a way that sounds like it.
I believe that it will be possible to discuss every substantive issue that DUers might want to discuss.

(5,082 posts)Smart and funny though. What else can one do but deflect? I could care less about the emails other than its a way to let other countries know what we're doing in a roundabout way. I'm not a fan of our foreign policy it's someone else's game and problem. Gen Petraeus just got outed further yesterday. Turns out things were way worse than thought. His "honeypot" had hundreds of classified documents on her own laptop. She is probably a spy for Turkey to blackmail politicians and generals here.

(745 posts)"She is probably a spy for Turkey to blackmail politicians and generals here." - Put it in a script, we're done!
billhicks76
(5,082 posts)She had connections there and Turkey is very active in espionage pivoting between the US and Arab countries. I'm very happy Germany recognized the Armenian Genocide recently instead of caring about stupid air bases to bomb people from. The US is derelict on this. Millions were slaughtered and if we don't admit it we look like a bunch of calculating jerks who really don't care about anything above our self-interests.

(4,187 posts)You can't attack the Democratic Party's nominee for president, and then claim you're doing it to "help her succeed." We're not idiots or fools.
phazed0
(745 posts)If you read the rules, it means exactly that. What would be idiotic and foolish is to not be allowed constructive criticism. You may not like those criticisms, but that doesn't make them any less true or valid.

(4,187 posts)If they think they will get away with such posts next week, they're kidding themselves.

(4,187 posts)Well, what can I say? Congratulations on not getting your post hidden because of a system glitch! If you think you will be able to get away with this sort of thing next week, when comments will not even be allowed on alerts, just enjoy this week as much as you can.
ETA: And in response to your question on why I'm "making a stink": I first alerted on your post, and when I got the pink message saying "Your alert was sent", without being asked for a comment, I assumed someone had already alerted on your post and the jury had voted to leave your post alone. So I did what we are supposed to do when a post is not hidden: respond to speech with more speech. I can't imagine why in the world you'd have a problem with that.

(33,982 posts)On Fri Jun 10, 2016, 12:34 PM an alert was sent on the following post:
Was that before or after Hillary wiped her email server?

REASON FOR ALERT
This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.
ALERTER'S COMMENTS
No comments added by alerter
You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Fri Jun 10, 2016, 12:39 PM, and the Jury voted 3-4 to LEAVE IT.
Juror #1 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: Interesting that this poster used almost the same 'comeback' as reince priebus Reince Priebus on Twitter: ".@HillaryClinton If anyone knows how to use a delete key, it's you." probably a coincidence. Hiding just the same.
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #3 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No comments were provided by the alerter???? If you can't make a case for the hide, you don't get the hide.
Juror #6 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Since the alerter didn't see fit to explain this shit, and the author of the post seems to be going about it in a constructive criticism sort of way, I vote to leave. If there's some element of this that is truly unacceptable, please put the effort into explaining the alert next time, because I have no idea what you are on about.
Juror #7 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: No explanation given

(4,187 posts)I was the alerter but was not given a chance to put in a comment. I assumed someone had already alerted on the post, but then I received mail saying the post was left alone. (It could well be that two people alerted on the post at exactly the same time.)
Two of the jurors said they chose to leave the post alone because the alerter didn't provide any comments. As far as I'm concerned, if you choose to leave such an anti-Hillary, conspiracy-theory-spreading post because there was no comment in the alert to tell you why you should hide the post, you're not voting in an unbiased way. That's precisely what I indicated in my comments on the alert I sent on the vote. So if you voted to leave that post alone, who knows, you might actually lose your voting privileges.
AtheistCrusader
(33,982 posts)That post that you alerted on was not as cut and dried obvious as you pretend it to be. I stand by my vote.
