Not sure Senator Perdue was just careless with his words here

He meant as president, I am sure, but still. He knew what the effect would be.

They've been bandying this verse around for eight years now. Remember how bent out of shape all these elected officials got when some entertainers observed to an audience once that they were ashamed that George W. Bush claimed Texas as his home?
