The city is gradually removing green ash trees, and there are a lot of them. After most of the elms had to be removed because of Dutch elm disease, they planted a whole bunch of green ash trees, and so of course another critter showed up to prey on them. I think finally somebody figured out that planting all the same species is a really bad idea because now they are planting a lot of different varieties along the city-owned boulevard areas. They gave me a Harbin pear, which produces a ton of flowers in the spring.

I remember Dutch Elm from when I was in grade school. The City of Omaha used helicopters to spray. I didn't help.

last year. We live next to a state park. Between the emerald ash borer and the wooly adelgid (attacks hemlocks), the forest is under siege .

1 in 10 is an ash tree. I chose this picture because the temp is 94 currently. Nessie (Loch Ness yard art) doesn't care for snow.

This is an ash bowl I'm working on, from a local tree that fell in a storm last fall.
