1. I thought, in the first instance, that this interview was a parody . . .

. . . but apparently not.

It's quite clear to me that Trump is psychologically and/or emotionally unstable, if not outright mentally ill.

More disturbing to me than that is that his supporters (and even those within the GOP whose support for him remains tepid) do not perceive this rather obvious truth.

2. CAPTIONing at DU has traditionally been a creative sport, so

these are not Trump's exact words. CAPTIONers satirize our subjects but at the same time usually try to channel their essence to point out their myopia, racism, hypocrisy, etc.

It this case, I stuck pretty close to Trump's words (they appear near the very end of the transcript at the site linked) but changed some a little bit (for flow) and added others (for sh*ts and giggles).
