Trump is a hot mess. He's never been anything but a hot mess.

Look, I didn't like Romney one bit. I thought he'd be a horrible president. I certainly had no use for John McCain. But those guys, abhorrent as I may have found their governing and political philosophies, were legitimate candidates in a way that Joker Trump is not.

So what is the responsibility of the news media? Should they treat (and are they doing so) trump differently from past candidates and nominees?

The media treated Dennis Kucinich as more of a joke and less legitimate a candidate than Trump. And he never got anywhere near the Presidency and he had a reputable career in politics.

The blunt truth is that trump is not someone who should be treated as a legitimate choice.

1. All too often, Americans have the bad habit of assigning responsibility to institutions.

In this instance, the media is irrelevant when it comes to Trump. Every American who's not living in a cave knows everything they need to know about Trump. This one, the election that is, IS ON THE AMERICAN PEOPLE. The American people CANNOT avoid responsibility for the decision they render in November.

2. It's ironic that this buttplug would be the oldest president ever if he wins.

My nephew is 11 and displays more maturity than this 70-year-old assclown.

3. That cow left the barn sometime ago.

A person who has won the R nomination, has 10s of millions of supporters, and will be on the ballot in all 50 states in Nov, is not a joke. A buffoon maybe, but not a joke.

4. This election's buzzword isn't gravitas, it's chicanery

And in particular chicanery by the media. To be clear: chicanery--clever, dishonest talk or behavior used to deceive people.

One major political party was moved to run off everyone of its credible politician candidates, and settled into being represented by a political empty shirt filled with straw who's every ridicule attracting ejaculation of stupidity is amplified and broadcast with breaking coverage.

At the same time, the other political party, which perennially preaches it's -always- better than the other side is screaming it's lungs out telling us that the huskster strawman is hugely dangerous and must be stopped before there is a 5th Reich.

As they say down South with the last word drawled out around a Saxon sounded vowel, 'thisz ain't right'. And it sure the hell isn't looking rha-hhhht.

Because, that look is indistinguishable from the chicanery of a coordinated effort to promote the weakest opposition in a not well covered application of opposition control intended to herd the electorate to polling places with only one -credible- 'choice'.

The strawman has to be stopped, but so too must the chicanery.

5. I totally agree...

I actually didn't throw up when I heard Romney. Who would have thought he would have been a slight voice of reason during this mess of an election.

6. The media is 100 percent responsible for this....

and I mean all of them. Trump is a joke, has been a joke for years, and yet they gave and continue to give endless hours of free propaganda to him. My UPS guy has more bona fides than Trump. Media deserves every insult directed at them. Yes Mr. Trump is good for making us money Les Moonves.

10. agree - it's on the media

Trump had one good year on TV with The Apprentice, then next year was so-so, and then it's been garbage ever since. Yet, this washed up reality star is now the presidential nominee of the party of Lincoln. Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, Eisenhower, and others must be spinning in their graves. Yet, he got what, over a billion dollars in free air time?

7. according to the constitution, you only have to be native-born and at least 35 years old.

Based on these criteria, I've encountered several tortoises that are qualified to run for president. I've also seen a few crocodiles and tarantulas that fall within those guidelines. And every one of them would be preferable to Drump.
