Suspected Islamic extremist shoots dead at least 20 at Florida gay club after bursting in 'wearing a suicide vest' and taking hostages - injuring a further 42 - before he is killed in shootout



The suspected Islamic extremist who killed about 20 people after taking party-goers hostage inside a gay club in Orlando has been identified.

Law enforcement sources have identified the shooter, who was wielding an assault rifle and a handgun, as US citizen Omar Mateen, from Port St. Lucie in Florida.

The gunman, who was born to Afghan parents, was carrying a suspicious device, possibly a suicide vest, when he opened fire on the dance floor inside Pulse in the early hours of this morning.

9. Ok, first of all this is the Daily Mail, the rag for isolationists in the UK

They hate foreigners as much as any Trump supporter.

Second, the language they use "Islamic extremist" with a "suspected" tacked on there just to cover their asses, is inflammatory and may not reflect the situation in any realistic way.

And finally, the Dems need to link this incident strongly to gun control (which is entirely the problem) no matter who is wielding the fucking thing or the Trumpster is going to get a bump in the polls.
