Mass shorting is a hate crime of the worst kind. RW wants to flame its as something international

Regardless of which side you support, I see confusion.

RE wants to flame it as something to do with international terrorism.
It may be possible his religious belief may pray some role. However, this is more like some Christian`s hate for LGBT community.

If we think too much of international connection, we will be sold with Trump meme.

Our focus should be on gun control. The similar crime may have been committed no matter what; however, the casualty could have been much lower if federal level gun control were in place.

1. Yes. This is not an excuse for more war.

It's an American problem we should not be afraid to face.

2. I think both aspects will need to be addressed

it will probably be necessary for Democrats to use the radical Islam aspect as well as the NRA's refusal to stop those under suspicion from legally having access to whatever weapons they want.

14. "Hatred never ceases by hatred,

but by love alone is healed. That is an ancient and eternal law."
("Dhammapada," Ch. 1, the Twin Verses 5, as quoted by Maha Ghosananda)

I hope you don't mean that Dems should do or say anything that could be construed as supportive of discrimination against muslims (even if it would help get gun control passed).

17. There's no point in hiding that fact, if that's what it is,

but I believe more harm than good would come from dwelling on it.

People aren't doing desperate, crazy things because guns are available, imho; they're doing them because they're desperate and feel alienated.

And as an ex-Du'er recently suggested, "all [fundamentalist] 'religions' are equally to blame for this homophobic massacre, but you know that it will just turn into an Islamophobic tirade instead of a real investigation of hate and guns."

3. Apparently this guy was motivated by religion

And it wasn't Christianity. He'd come up on the FBI's radar at least twice in the last 10 years.

8. it doesn't help to deceive ourselves

it was a hate crime and it was enabled by gun availability and it was motivated by devotion to ISIS and to a general hate of gays that was likely based in the killer's religious views (which are presumably consistent with those of ISIS).

9. The free pass given to religious bigots has got to be discussed and that's all there is to it.

It's time for the US to sever relations with nations that oppress LGBT. That has to happen now.

10. My husband always says

That if we didn't do anything after Sandy Hook, we Aren't Going to ever do Anything. The NRA weilds entirely too much power in this COuntry.
We Need to do what Australia did After a Mass shooting And Really Crack down on Gun violence.
This breaks my Heart. All of Those innocent People. Just out for a might of Fun. 😟

12. It is an international issue

and something should be done about ISIS. Diplomatically, militarily, whatever. This is just going to embolden folks who are influenced by them .
