Religion, arrogance, hate and guns.
Religions of any kind, from anywhere, are to blame.
Arrogance that your viewpoint and your religion are the only way, the "right" answer.
Hate, wrapped in the sanctimonious cover of religion, gives someone the assurance that their hate and vitriol is good and just.
Guns, in the hands of an arrogant, hate-charged, religious person, spreading their gospel with bullets and blood, real or metaphorical, is always the end result.
Religions define themselves in the blood, misery and destruction their followers and gods can put on those that don't believe as they do, in life or after their death.
No matter the religion, those that don't believe as they do, are damned to endless suffering and pain and worse.
There is no redeeming value in fostering a need for the pain and suffering of another.
When you foster ignorance, intolerance, hate and fear, as a religion, an individual or as a nation, this is the reaping that comes with the sowing of those seeds. Not just here but everywhere.
It's not abstract. It's not somewhere else. It's not someone else. These people. This planet. This universe. This life.
That is all we have.
As simple as it may seem, it is still just as true:
Make the very best of life you can. Love each other. Care for each other. Help make the Earth and all the creatures on it, the best place to live you can.
