Is the message is shifting from anti-gay murder to ISIS sponsored killing...minimizing the deaths of

real people for political purposes? Just woke up here so have not followed this story closely but
already looks like some are trying to score political points and making the dead look like martyrs instead of a persecuted minority killed by the gun cult

I imagine that more than a few people pledge allegiance to Islamic State "alone." I don't think someone needs a membership card to be motivated by an organization and ideology.

I do get that multiple issues make it hard to use this event to bludgeon opponents, though.

The NRA types want Islam in the middle of this because then they can distract from the issue with our insane gun laws.

Others want to downplay the fact that fundamentalist Islam teaches 'death to gays' and "10x the rewards" for martyrdom during Ramadan.

Hate comes from a lot of ideologies. As much as it is human nature, we can't put everything neatly into predefined boxes.

There is a difference. You're doing your own agendizing and politicizing.

primarily by anti-gay bigotry. It's also possible that both are factors. Things are rarely a simple matter of black and white.

"You're doing your own agendizing and politicizing."

allegiance to ISIL will cloud the message. Hopefully, the fact that ISIL is anti-gay and targets the LGBT population will promote discussion of both reasons for this horrible event.

We cannot allow the press or anyone to forget... these innocent people were targeted for who they love. Despicable.

That is not a bad thing. We need the full story and to want anything else speaks more of an agenda than not.
