although I understand the impulse to do anything at all. Texas is led by bigots and a majority of Texans are bigots still.

Seriously there are a lot of good people in Texas.

But they are outnumbered by morons and haters.

Source: Native Texan shitkicker born and raised who fled to a life in big east coast cities, that's me. I go back once every couple of years to check and it's if anything worse than it was in the 60s and 70s.

Dan Patrick is a known bigot. If I believed in any of his fantasy faith I would pray he rots in a nasty version of hell.

I don't sign most petitions and certainly not to feel good. I think the petition has become a devalued instrument in the Internet era and they are too often used to take advantage of outrage to harvest email addresses or open their signatories to attacks. Just a personal stance of mine given that there is a less than zero chance such a petition will have any effect on removing Patrick from office and thus *only*!serves to make signers feel good.

When was the last online petition that effected any change?

Texas is a lost cause.

You know you can get an email that you never use for stuff like this.

But, of course, you can't be bothered.

Jerritt Lyday or "JP" is a liberal Christian. I am friends with his mother and worked with her as well for many years in education. Proud of JP, and proud to support this effort.

What's especially precious is the gay-hating Xtian Fundamentalists trying to pretend there is more than a few inches of philosophical difference between them and the Islamic ones.

I hope there are enough decent people in Texas to get this monster removed from office.

I understood that his account automatically sends a daily biblical quote. Not that I'm defending him...can't stand that slug.

after being surprised by the level of outrage. Make no mistake, Dan Patrick is a vile, despicable human being.
