2. Could the gunman have been gay and suffered from self loathing?

His father appeared to be very anti gay... abusive shaming would follow.... Gunman in retrospect hated himself...His marriage was most brief....he was abusive to wife but secrets remain to be revealed ....

Just wondering......This takes nothing away from this outrageous crime of terror....just seeking insight into what may of lead up to such hate....may tell us how to change.

Speculating in this manner does no one any good. Not all people that are homophobic are self-loathing, closeted "homos." Some people hate us gay folk because they hate us gay folk. They've been taught to hate us, whether it be from religion, politicians, the media or friends that let other friends call people "faggots" without condemnation.

that was the father's first response. It could be the father is covering for other reasons as well. The problem he had with gays stemmed from religion as his father supports Taliban.

Of Afghanistan. I'm guessing "rational thought" and "mental stability" were not regularly on display in his household.

murder. The killer was twice investigated by the FBI and you folks need to stop making excuses for him and those who taught him, encouraged him and lead him to this horrible act.

His anti gay bigotry not related to the anti gay religion he and his family practiced? Get real.

Generally speaking, a person isn't born wanting to kill gay people.
