Joy of joys! Trump is determined to lose.

The second he may have been given a leg up in public sympathy and support (after a bad two weeks), he starts channeling Alex Jones and implying Obama is at least sympathetic to (and maybe supportive of) terrorism:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/trump-obama-isis-terrorism_us_575ea346e4b00f97fba8c1d7

He is emboldened and now will not even consider "establishment" Republican advice. At least until it's too late and has shown himself to be the brash, ego-manically buffoon he is at core.

He will never let himself be president and will subconsciously subvert his chances due to his nature.

I've been feeling very bad about this until these latest statements.

1. He is trying hard to end his campaign

He doesn't want to run for president, he wants to end it here. He cannot raise the money and would have to write a check for a billion dollars. He ain't gonna do that.

that what worked to perfection in the primaries is a sure fire way to lose the general. He sees no reason to change because up until now, it has worked so well.

Let's look at 33 pecent..............He wins no states
It is a democratic landslide throughout the country..

and............you fill in the rest we all know what that is...

yes, a third might vote for him ...at most...but .....67 percent won't vote for him, no matter what he thinks..and no matter what has worked in the past...

He'll do very well in the south - maybe not all the southern states but the vast majority of them. Along with TX, MT, UT, WY.

9. 33% is probably a little low

A segment of the population will vote R, regardless of the nominee.

A segment of the population will vote against Hillary, because...Hillary.

A segment of the population pays little or no attention to politics.

A segment of the population isn't exposed to Trump on any regular basis.

The GOP will desperately try to moderate Trump by the GE. They'll mostly fail, but not entirely.

Combine those and other factors, and I think his floor is probably 40%, which would still be a massive blowout. Reagan/Mondale proportions.

12. Let's compare his speech today
Mon Jun 13, 2016, 02:32 PM
Jun 2016

set to begin in minutes, to Hillary substantive speech of the last hour.

I know the contrast will be great!

This might be the first sharp contrast of the two on a major issue. And I predict it will be the defining moment when the Trump wave of stupid approval paused and began to retreat. It will take a few days to sink in, but the polls of 6.20 will begin to show the coming Hillary landside.

14. From an Atlantic reader...

"To think Trump is consciously looking for a way to get out of the nomination is, I think, a lot of wishful thinking. While it is true that he has said many outrageous, impolitic, and plainly false things, most have accrued to his benefit in winning the nomination, and it is only now that some are hurting his chances for the general. I don’t believe that Trump thinks there is anything that he can say that is so out of bounds that it would derail his chances. And, given how wrong all of the pundits and all of his critics have been over the last year, we shouldn’t too easily believe that this time it’s different.

If there is anything that we can know about Trump with some degree of certainty, it is that he has a huge ego; there is no lack of confidence. In his mind, demeanor, and language, he is a winner. Winners win. That’s just the way it is."

all they have to do is cut the funds. He's not going to spend his own money.

And although there are others that could fund him, I think no one is going to jump in and do it without another billionaire or two on the hook with them.
