(18,252 posts)And this looked like a good place.
I want to do my part to insure that a Democrat remains in the White House, and I will admit that I'm excited it will be a woman.
I was a phone bank captain for Hillary, but I appreciate everything Bernie has done to invigorate the party. I hope we can all come together to insure a reasonable and responsible forward moving government that addresses the needs of the the middle and working classes, the marginalized, and those who were formerly left behind.

(15,805 posts)I swear that 2nd photo of the paw print through dough came from my own kitchen. I should have taken pictures of all the times my little darlings stomped across the pizza dough, plopped down on my freshly flour dusted countertop, or licked the ball of buttered biscuit dough.

(5,376 posts)There are TWO kinds of People in the world: CAT PEOPLE and IDIOTS. Gave me a smile, as did your post, so thanks. I'm just hoping we cat people outnumber the idiots!
Cheers.

(111,254 posts)but I don't have anyone to take a beloved furry companion when I kick the bucket or go do-lally enough to get packed off to a nursing home. I really miss having at least one of the little jerks around.
I even miss the pawprint in the pie dough. Or butter.

(17,276 posts)Goodness knows there are a lot of them languishing in shelters.
My take on this argument is that any time you can give a cat in a real home is worth it. The shelter would take them back, most likely. My shelter would, anyway.
And owning a pet is good for you! Would probably extend your healthy, productive years!
IcyPeas
(21,865 posts)that's the best of both worlds. you get to love and help and socialize. Or the senior cat idea is great too.
I am thinking of doing this myself and just took the Foster Orientation class at my nearby shelter.

(1,267 posts)BFFs -- Jack (orange guy) and Sheba:
[IMG][/IMG]
Sheba is very dignified & ladylike while Jack is a dog-cat who plays fetch & loves to walk around the house carrying a stick in his mouth. Both of them like to watch cat videos on my iPad.
I love them (and their sister Vera) to the moon and back!
