Just look at what has happened in the last two weeks:
-It was revealed that he was going to keep money raised for veterans, for himself and has done this repeatedly in the past few decades
-He said that Hispanics, Muslims, and women cannot be trusted to perform their jobs properly
-Has lost the backing of at least half of the major republican donors
-Republicans are unendorsing him or refusing to endorse him
-Polls show that typical republican strongholds of Utah and Kansas may go for Clinton this year
-Another poll shows his level of support at 30% nationwide and down by double digits to Clinton
-Reports have shown that his campaign is staffed by a skeleton crew of incompetent amateurs that are locked in a civil war for influence
-He plans on spend what little money he has to win New York and California, where is is currently down by around 25-30 points. His New York campaign chairman's plan to win the state is by handing out bumper stickers.
-The RNC has told him twice in the last week that he needs to keep his mouth shut, first about the judge he was defaming and the other about the shootings from yesterday.
-He was roundly condemned for congratulating himself about a mass shooting and his speech today was widely criticized as factually inaccurate and extremely disturbing
-He plans on having a "sports themed" convention (with sports stars refusing to attend) and said he isn't vetting a VP, but instead is going to "go with his gut".
-He is revoking press credentials of some of the most influential media outlets in the world because they are "unfair"
I have never seen anything like this in my life. If this isn't a sign of a total implosion I don't know what is.

(11,175 posts)I hope we run against Trump. The good news, though, is that if they do sneak in someone else, so manhy Trump supporters will be so furious that the replacement candidate will need a miracle to win.

Why would an athlete's political opinion influence anyone's vote?

(4,673 posts)somehow Trump will be schooled in how to tone it down to just ludicrously heinous from where he is now, and voters who really dislike Hillary but now wouldn't vote for Trump, will seize on that as him being the lesser and pull the trigger.
I mean - when he reads a few sentences off a teleprompter without insulting anyone or suggesting nuclear war, it's a good few minutes for him.
He's so terrifying that I won't stop worrying until Hillary is sworn in.

(3,072 posts)The republicans have been trying to get him "on message" and acting "presidential" for months. He flat out refuses each time (or more likely can't help himself). If it hasn't happened yet, it isn't going to at some point in the future.
